Unhappy GUESS I HAVE TO BITE THE BULLET AND REPLACE 2ND GEAR SYNCHRONIZER!!!!!!

Well after trying the GM Friction Modifer and the GM Synchronizer oil in my 94 LS coupe 6spd transmission with no luck . 2nd gear is still grinding which drives me nuts. Iam so anal about things of this nature with all my autos. Nevertheless, Iam going to have the 2nd gear synchronizer replaced...there is no way else around it. I know its going to be expensive to say the least...just had the entire clutch and flywheel replaced by a Local Acura Dealership or as commonly know to many as the "Stealership"! I was wondering if anyone had this repair done and an est. cost? Also does anyone know of anyone is the metro Atlanta area can do this repair? Again Iam anal about whom I let touch any of my autos I believe in doing right or not doing it at all . Thanks for any help or suggestions .

RO94SLCOUPE94; Does it grind no matter what rpm that you execute the shift at? Is it a pronounced metallic grind or just a notchy feel where it doesn't want to shift smoothly? I can't help you with any shops in the Atl. area,
sorry.

Yes, sounds as though you have no other options. Let us know how it goes.
I'd be interested to know the labor cost and parts needed.

From what I've heard you might end up spending more on transmission work than a good used transmission, but add me to the list of those curious to hear how it works out. I've got a spare 6-speed with a bad second gear sitting around.

Also, do you have problems getting into 2nd if you double clutch?

Yes that is true but I know the condition of my transmission buying a used one you never know how good it is until you install it and drive it. Atleast I will know what I have when Iam done with no "what if or I wonder if it" kind of thoughts running in my mind. I will update everyone when I have the work done....Iam sure someone else has had the same issue and had 2nd gear synchronize replace.
