heater core causing air in cooling system.

resently i had weard idle every morning when i started the car. the idel will jump from 1k to like 0 up and down.I found some threas that's there is an air in the system, and it was. so i bleed the air and few days later again . i keeped bleeding the air over and over , at least 5 times so far. The air will coume out all the time wile beeleding when the heat is on full. but while the heat is off the air stop coming out., and clear cooland will come . so my problem is when running heat got air. is it possible that the heather core will hold so much air ? . is it anythign i can check , ( no overherting, no leaks inside of the car.)

sounds like the heater core is leaking somewhere and allowing air in....

Hope you don't have a bad heater core, it's tough to replace.

Questions:

1. Whem u bleed ur system, are you making sure your heat is on full?

2. Have u chewcked for leaks in other pklaces? Like the rad top tank, the heater hoses and valve between the engine and the firewall, and around your coolant hoses in front of the engine?

the air is coming when i have the heat on full . once i turn off the airt stop coming out. so it have to be something pass the valve . The heater hoses look ok and o don't see any leaks

Antifreeze in the passenger side footwell is indicative of an leaky heater core. Do you smell antifreeze in the interior and is there a film on the windows? If so, the entire dash has to come out to replace it. Not a job for the HELM-less or faint of heart.

You obviously have a leak somewhere. Have you checked ALL of the hoses and radiator? Has the car EVER overheated? Sounds suspiciously like death by BHG to me.

i got new radiator about 7 mouths back, all the hoses look good no leaks, never overheated, no smell inside or out, new rad cup, im gettin air only when im running heat during bleeding , when i turn heat off the air stop coming out. thats weard, maybe i schould keep bleeding air for like 30 min, or so .Its weard bc the return hose from the heater core is connected to the rest of the cooling system ,so is matter of cooland floowing tru the heater core causing air . Also the way i bleed is with rad. cup off and bleed bolt off i start the engine and let all the air come out tru the bleeder bolt and adding cooland to the radiator, is that the right way to do ?

It's not really too bad. You should be able to get the dash out in 5-6 hours. Just make sure to mark the location of every bolt and screw because there's a gazillion of them. I used a giant piece of cardboard for that. Do you have a new heater core already?
