Heating ? - DaveC, BigDad, LPB, PSA---anybody!
Lately, have noticed that at idle (like warming up in the AM), my heater blows semi-cool air. This also is the case when I pull up to a stop light or am in traffic. However, when I get over about 1K RPMs the heater blows all of the hot air you would ever want. A Acura tech whose opinions I respect is stumped---he says it appears I have some type of circulation problem but can't figure out where. Has anybody run across this before? I have no radiator leaks (pressure tested last week), HG is OK (hydrocarbon test last week, too) and a brand new thermostat. Any suggestions?

Classic example of air in the cooling system. Time to bleed her Steve (and look for leaks).

yup, sounds like air in the system...when you bleed it make sure the heater is on full blast and the car is at operating temp.....sounds like the heater core gets airlocked until the water pump forces enought water around to circulate properly....if there is air, there is likely a leak (or it was never completely removed when theromstat etc. was done)....sometimes the bleeding has to be done a couple of times....be patient
