Car 1: 94 acura legend L

help!!, d4 light flashing, check engine light came on

can someone help me out, driving home last night (about a 30 mile drive). d4 light starts flashing, then after about a couple of minutes later the CEL comes on, but not too much difference in the ride of the car.
HELP!!

Sounds like the VSS or another transmission sensor went out or hiccuped.

gahhhh im sick of reading this d4 flashing posts lol... its your VSS buddy, not very hard to change, i dont know if the VSS going bad causes the check engine light or not because it has never happened to me but maybe this thread will help you i just searched for VSS.

How To Replace The VSS

try searching first next time thank you and goodluck

could prolonging the replacement of the vss damage the transmission in some way, seeing as how the vss give the transmission its shift timing.

If you leave it like that for an extended period of time-Yes. But as long as you fix it within a month you should be good.

if your CEL turns on only while your rolling pretty fast without your foot on the gas im pretty sure its the vss... i think the car thinks its idling at a too high rpm... well thats my theory at why it always turned on only while i was going down a steep hill.
