Lots of people had that problem, the first batch of bars was made wrong. Where did you buy it? Some distributors received the wrong bar and continue to sell them from the looks of things.

Here's what it should look like if it helps you any.

i think that was one of the problems. i think you can use a dremel to thin out the section.

Yea we all had that problem. You can either grind the ends down slightly to make them thin enough or fabricate a new bolt/collar setup that is longer. StevieRay made a DIY on the new bolt in one of the old swaybar threads.

I didn't take that much off, maybe 1/8" iirc. It was a couple years ago, I've forgotten.

my bar looks correct at first glance but when set on top of the oem bar the bends are off, specifically(sp?) the on the left in kenso's picture the bend isnt angled enough. Its off about half to three quarters of an inch (not enough) thanks guys

The "wrong" bar we all got at first was WAY off, like not even remotely close at all, different style/shape altogether. Your looks like the right one, I don't know why it doesn't follow the shape of the OEM bar better. See if you can get it to fit, they never were 100% identical to the stock one.
