try adjusting the slack on the cable...and apply some sort of lubricant to prevent it from getting "stuck." Also...a dirty throttle body can cause sticking too. Try cleaning that out with some intake cleaner

you should probably replace the whole throttle cable. It runs from the pedal, through the firewall, then connects to the side of the throttle body. You're gonna have to disconnect it at both ends and pull it through the firewall to replace it. Sticky throttle cables can cause serious accidents, the $40-50 part is worth buying.

Make sure it's not the linkage on the side of the throttle body that's sticking.

This might help, but on some years of the G2 Legend, there has been a recall on the throttle body. Do a search on this forum.

You are correct. The 1991 Legend had a recall on the throttle body. You can check with you local Acura dealer to find out if your was replaced. I think some where near 80-90% were replaced. If you car's was never replaced, I think you are still elegible for a free new one installed. If it was replaced then drive down to my house wilth $1.05 for a gasket and $10 for the door sills you won in my auction and I will take care of removing it and clean and lubricate the while thing. If that doesn't work we will order the cable and put it in. Give me about 30 min. to do the work. PM me if you want my number.

Every G2 Legend starts with JH4, but I know that if you have problems with the throttle body sticking, that's the reason for the recall, sorry, I forgot about that. Get it done before you hurt your car.

Here is what I have found so far:
NHTSA Recall History

1991: Transmission-shift-cable bracket can be damaged and shift lever may not correctly indicate gear position. 1991-92: A transistor in the speaker amplifier could overheat, resulting in smoke or the possibility of a fire. 1992: Passenger-side airbag assembly in small number of cars was produced without igniter material, which would cause nondeployment or slow deployment in case of collision.

Pretty interesting, but I still can't find the one on the TB.

Added: Acura reports that all airbags were replaced. This is interesting because the passenger side one in my coupe did not go off, but the driver did. Arent they suppose to go off together? Mabey I need to talk to Acura

Here you go!

Product Update: Legend Throttle Body

Year
1991 Model
Legend VIN Application
See Vehicles
Affected Bulletin No.
93-025

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

December 1993

Dear Legend Owner:
Honda has determinded that your Legend may sometimes experience an erratic idle condition.

Your dealer now has the parts needed to correct this condition. Please call your Acura dealer and schedule an appointment to have them installed. This update will be done free of charge. Please plan to leave your car at the dealership for at least a half a day to allow them scheduleing flexibility.

Vehicles Affected
Only vehicles within the following VIN ranges are affected:
2-door thru VIN JH4KA8...MC006531
4-door thru VIN JH4KA7...MC029711

I too thought the recall was for sticking throttles, but it wasn't. You still might be elegible for a new one. Check your vin.

I had my throttle body changed out. My car wasn't experiencing bad symptoms, but hey, why not. I had to leave my car there for a day and they wouldn't give a loaner cause the service was already free. Oh wells.

Here is where I found it:

I hope this helps. Remember that most of the cars were fixed, so most likely you will not fall in this catagory.
