how do I remove those rubber retainers on the exhaust pipe?

I am replaceing the tranny mount and I cant figure out how to get the freakin cat back off! its driving me nuts- how do i remove those rubber fsckers?

are you talking about the rubber exhaust hangers? If so, they are kinda a PITA. You need to use alot of strength and push them off the hook. Use a prybar or large screwdriver to assist.

I took a saw-zal to all the hangers when I pulled my exhaust out. much simpler. Then you can put new hangers on the normal rubber retainers.
