Anyone know how this is done?
I am reffering to the black weather guards or whatever that are on the roof. Plan on doing a "super detail" i.e. waxing the bottom part of where the moldings rests.

Yes, it's very difficult to remove those 2 pieces without breaking one of the clips that keeps it there. I had mine replaced by someoen else because I was frustrated at it myself. Luckily, I was doing some body work (after a ***** backed into me), so the labor was free. It consists of 2 clips, 1 by the front windshield and the other by the rear windshield. I remember when I tried to take off the clips, it's sort of under the moulding of either windshield, so u have to kind of nudge it without stripping the weatherstrippign around the windshields. In any case, breaking it is the easiest way to do it and the clips cost chump change compared to the black trim itself. I believe it costs $30/each for those pieces of plastic.

I do not know if this is the correct procedure for removing them or not. I just changed mine a few weeks ago. At the front part (near the windshield), bend it up a bit, and it should slide forward right out.
As the previous post said, it would not be worth it to remove them just to wax under there. You could end up bending it too far back, and then it would look bad with a bend in it. You would probably break a few clips too. Good luck though if you do it. |

Those 4 each side plastic clips that hold the black roof trim on are most likely break away clips and are not reuseable
I just had my coupe and getting my Sedan re-painted and those roof rails got replaced along with new clips the clips are cheap the rails are NOT
