How to ID auto trans for Type I to Type II swap???

Hi all,
I blew my Type I engine in my 91 Legend I picked up a Type II engine and an auto trans. from an engine surplus . How can I properly determine which trans I picked up? Do the Type I and Type II auto trans have different physical features??? I'm trying to determine whether or not to upgrade the ECU to a Type II or just chip the one I have, but from what I've been told and am reading, it depends on what trans I have? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Wait, you have a G1 and want to put a G2 Type II engine and transmission in it...?

I don't think that's even possible.

(Of course, it *could* happen with tons of money, but it's not feasible.)

Oh, ok.

Sorry, just wanted to make sure you didn't have a first generation Legend and expected a Type II to just drop right in.

Keep on searching.
I got the impression that the tranny was the same on all G2's, but I'm not positive.

Well, apparently there are several versions on the auto trans. Type I, Type II, and with or without TCS....SoOoO, my quest is still on to ID this thing in order to determine the best way to suite the engine- software wise (either goin to Type II ECU or just chipping the Type I that I have via Telion)
