how much should i expect to pay...?

i really need to replace the busted up fog lights on my car, and today i finally drove up to the bodyshop around my place for a quote. he told me that to remove the busted up oem ones and to replace it with new ones i chose (proably piaa or catz), it'll set me back $100!!!! i was like errrrr damn... i'm gonna think about that one...
i haven't really been to the other places, but this doesnt sound too good.
anyone with experience doing something like this? i'm not familiar with wiring and stuff, and i'd just like to steer clear of that, in case i mess up my car. how much should i be paying for removal and installation of fog lights? thanks in advance.

The lowest I've seen is $80 to install fog lights ... You should try to do it yourself. It took me 20 mins to do it on my friend's Integra. Its fairly simple.

Check out this tutorial:

You also need to realize that to replace the OEM ones is around $300 just in parts.

that's why i'm not planning on getting oem ones... plus i dont think they look as good as aftermarket. which is a source of concern for myself since i'd prefer experts to install this kinda stuff for me.

you could just not put anything in there...fog lights are completely worthless anyway. they are completely for looks, on the off chance that there is THAT much fog, you shouldnt be driving anyway, because you wont be able to see anything in front of you.

If you want really nice fog lights that looks good , yeah expect to pay over $100 , I mean you get what you pay for. Then again how often do you get caught in fog and how important is it too you?

They are just called "fog" lights. True fog lights have to have a yellow tint to be effective. The name for clear lamps is "driving" lights. They do dramatically improve your visability at night without blinding others. I personally will never own a car that doesn't have them. I am currently on a search for my 3rd pair. I am more than willing to pay $300 again for the OEM, but that is me.
