how much stiffer can we get?

I was reading about the Drift Factory wide body S13 (now for sale) and came across some chassis stiffening ties: http://www.driftfactory.com/gacchiri.php

I was thinking of driving over there to see if they could measure up/test-fit a set on my coupe, just to see if they fit. Does anyone think this kind of tie going to have a noticable effect on our Legends? I'm thinking with the weight of our cars, any stiffening will help.

Quote:
The Inner Fender Brace provides chassis reinforcement between the joint of the car's front engine section and mid cockpit section. Typically, the greatest strength of the car's chassis will be low, concentrated in the frame. As we move up the chassis, we find there is less reinforcement, especially at the fender area, where the forward section and mid section of the car are joined by a few spot welds. Consequently, under hard braking and cornering there is a great amount of flex and twist at the fender area. The Inner Fender Brace reduces this flexing and the sloppy steering response associated with it. Chassis rigidity is increased noticeably and turn in response is significantly crisper and faster.

I am usually game for this genre of modification, but because our chassis has much more torsional flex at the center of the cabin, I think this modification would have a limited effectiveness. I think that a chassis X-brace would be more effective.

Something similar to #2 is what I'm thinking.
Even better would be a 6 or 8-point brace

ive noticed this since i got my ksports.....there is a LOT of tortion right in the center of the car. and was actually thinking about this yesterday....i would be 100% down on something else to stiffen up the chassis if the price is right.

are you going to get a front sway? I've passed a PM along to fut about a cross brace. Maybe he'll be able to look into it.

im still trying to decide if i want the front sway....i need to do a bit more research and talk to a few of the members here about how it changed the handling of the car vs. just a rear sway.
