Hi, I need some advice about how to go about repairing these major repair recommendations by 2 different mechanic shops. I have a 1994 Legend GS, MT. I don't know anything about what these parts do or fit together.

1st shop recommends: P/S Rack boots torn and leaking; Rear trans mount Broken; R/Inner CV Boot torn and L/Side Leak, Rec. all boots, Right side axle boots; Ball joint boots.


2nd shop recommends: Control Arm W/Ball joint (x2), Remove and Replace Right Control Arm, (upper, both); All struts.

So, what would be the best way to take care of all of these? I don't want to pay for a repair individually and find out that it is part of a larger repair and then pay for the larger repair later that would include the smaller one.

Thank you and I appreciate the advice. I wish I could do something in return for how helpful you all have been but I don't know a whole lot about cars.

This is what I would do, the steering rack and cv axles are what I would do first. (if they fail while your driving it won't be pretty.) I would check RockAuto Parts Catalog for the upper control arms and ball joints. (by the Moog ones)

The axles: Raxles, America's premier supplier of OE quality CV Axles and CV joints - Raxles Inc. the steering rack: Rack and Pinion - rack and pinion steering - rack and pinion remanufacturing - rack and pinion manufacturers - Rack Doctor the rear trans mount you be better off purchasing a polyd one. either DIY or contact Actionjackson.
