I need seriouse Opinions KSPORTS VS. KONI
I need seriouse opinions and facts on The Ksport Coilovers and the KONI Suspention Kit.
Both are roughtly the same price With a group buy and high shipping costs. My plan was to do this over the summer but that time has past and now Im stuck. Im tired of that floaty boat like feeling on the highway. I want this to act like a car. I have a STOCK 12 YR OLD suspention TSX wheels with 225x45 tires, front and rear Addco Sway bars, new end links, and a KMS strut bar. What are your thoughts (the longer your explanation the better)

I'm going to say Ksports as well, simply because I like them better than the Koni/H&R setup I was on previously.
IMO - the Koni/whatever combo is great for a lower center of gravity, aggressive stance, and great ride feel. You get more feedback from the car, and it increases the direct feeling while driving, but if you're looking for real performance, you will find the limits of them very quickly. I did the track day at NALM 06 in Tulsa with my Koni/H&R setup and I was all over the place. That suspension is just way too soft for any kind of track event or autox style driving. The Ksports are as direct is you can stand. The trade off is, with normal driving, your car will still feel like you're pushing everything. They are seriously different from a Koni setup. On the softest setting (as I roll with mine daily) they are still pretty stiff on normal roads. You feel everything - which is a good thing for the enthusiast - but not so good for the enthusiasts wife In fact, my wife brings a pillow to sit on when we take my car anywhere. But - to answer your question, if you're looking for performance, Ksport all the way. If you're looking to street drive aggressively, Koni Sport Kit will do - just don't look to hit autox days or track time and not be all over the place.

K-sport = amazing handling/stiff ride/easy install/easy adjustable stance
Koni = decent handling/good ride quality. If you enjoy long cruising trips with your legend... i do not recommend k-sports.

Ksports are great, but along with all their plus sides, the ride quality does decrease greatly. I got them for my Legend knowing this, but I wanted the absolute best street-able handling I could get, which they gave. But the ride quality does get old when driving in a city full of shitty roads. If you're not going to be tracking/auto-x-ing your car, don't bother with Ksports. |

it is entirely up to your preference.
coilovers will loose your luxury ride about 70-80%. putting them onto a luxury car will definitely sacrifice the luxury. i had two supras w/ jic coilovers. i would only drive them if i go someplace alone -w/o the wife. i would also take them for a spin and drive it hard simply because it's so much fun and it can handle canyon drive and twisty roads but in the end, i always look to drive my legend -standing on eibach/gr2- on a daily basis because it is more comfortable. to sum it all up, sport springs can give you both worlds. coilovers will give your car great handling but no comfort. ![]()
