I think I have a bad Coil Pack...read....

okay check it out guys, we have been having some major rain here in NY for the past couple days,... today I go to take out the legend and its stumbling and missing slightly, progressivly worse when I step on the gas,.....popped the hood, I hear ticking from the drivers rear coil pack,....disconnect the coil pack, and the ticking goes away, idle is normal,...reconnect the coil pack, same thing happens,...ticking comes back, engine begins to miss,.....could I have a badd coil pack?....help guys,....my legend is my daily driver, I depend on it for everything,....

Sounds like you found the problem. Swap it to the other side and see if it does it on the other side.

When I changed plugs in my car and pulled the coil pack, the rubber 'boot' that encases the spark plug tip came apart. thought I could piece it back together and did the same as you describe. Spark gets out of the encasement and arcs against the block. Basically a dead cyclinder until you replace.

you have a spark leak giving you a dead cyl. as it shorts out....for a quick fix, wrap the wire/boot with electrical tape where you think it is split or open and then see if you improved it enough to at least drive....
