so you got your a\c display to go blue? I would defintely love to see pics when you get them posted.

legend girl - I saw the same thing, so I am a bit confused too, I am just going by whats on the bulbs for the festoons at least the rest I guess I am just taking his word

The caps thing may be true, maybe they do interchange them, but I don't want to take any chances, is there anyway I can test them I wonder? however it doesn't really matter because I plan on using the blue ones which are stamped 5w. I will comment on the superwhites later because i put them in and was like neh...then popped in the blues, my car was in the garage and the garage light was on so it wasn't a fair test I just wanted to see them go on...for the blue ones i turned the light off so I could see only them...At first I thought the blue 194's were a good blue...but then I compared them to the astock door lights and the color started looking green to me...maybe I'm spoiled by LEDs because they give such vivid colors, but I'm almost thinking these bulbs look more green then blue...I will install all the bulbs and I'm sure I'll like my interior way better but I am still waiting on some led bulbs from superbright, last time they came hecka fast like 3 days but this time it is going on a week....

well crap my led bulbs are STILL not here, it's been a week, last time they came in three days...arrrggghhh but anyways whats more dissappointing is that the incandescent bulbs I bought are not really coming out how I imagined, I put one of the blue 74's in my auto shifter, but the numbers and letters didn't really come out blue, they came out like green and the red P and N won't light up cause it's not bright enough...I put the superwhite one in, and the P and N light up now, but again the white lettering is not blue it's still more green...it's making me mad...I need a brighter blue in there, SO my next idea is to some how put an led strip in there, and hopefully it will do the lighting well, I know it will be blue, but I have to make sure it aligns...for now that might be put at the back end of the project though, as like a tweeking stage, it seems almost like too much trouble for some dumb little bulbs...maybe I didn't know what I was getting into hahaha, well just a warning don't use the 74 blue's in the auto plate they don't light up!

95lastofthegreatones,
I aploligize for my lashing out at you. I had a really bad day and when I opened the package and saw they were 10w I was just about ready to explode. Didn't have time to put all the bulbs in but the ones I did out in look good. BTW I too have been driving Legends a long time, since 1996.

Perziankabob, if you saw my extravagant lifestyle you would sh!t yourself.

I see people having trouble, I'm looking

-Dome Light Bulbs (Front and Rear)
-Map Light Bulbs (Front and Rear)
-Courtesey Light Bulbs
-Door Bulbs
-1 trunk bulb
-Bulb that goes around the ignition where you stick in the key

I have a 94GS Sedan, anyone know which part #s from the site, how many, and what they are exactly called? I was thinking maybe ordering 1 of each that are believed to be the ones...to see where they will fit and where they wont. I read the post above, but it seemed sort of confusing =/

Future the only reason that ordering just one bulb is a good idea, is to test colors, I tested led bulbs in general for myself and then colors, but you will just be paying alot more shipping with 2 orders. you have all the bulbs listed for you, just go buy those in whatever color you like, however I will add this note, I am finding that after leds, the colors of incadescent bulbs are not that great, I am pretty saddened by this and am still looking for bright AND vivd colorsincadescent bulbs are bright but not vivid and leds are vivid but not bright, so I have to think harder about how to go about this project.

-Dome Light Bulbs - Front 194\168, Rear is a 31mm festoons
-Map Light Bulbs - Front 194\168, Rear are 31mm festoons
-Courtesey Light Bulbs - I assume you mean footwells which I think it has been stated are 74's
-Door Bulbs - 31mm festoons
-1 trunk bulb - a 31 mm festoon
-Bulb that goes around the ignition where you stick in the key - 74 bulb, I sggest an led there for a more vivid color, it will be bright there too

everyone when in doubt just crack open some of your lenses, this has all been answerd though, also check out your owners manuals it is all in there too so you can see what type and how many, it has pictures of how to get it apart...very easy stuff

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!
You're right/wrong. It depends how you use the LEDs. Leds will only have a concentrated shine. 1 led is good for 'each' button since it doesn't take much area to be covered. But if you use LEDs in the dome lights, then LEDs won't bright up the car at all!

It's like Mercedes LED tail lights. For them to use those, they needed maybe HUNDREDS of LED lights to shine as bright as normal taillights.

.... Klien - I noticed your AC buttons have different blue hues. Did you point all of the LEDs towards the buttons, or just randomly stuck it in there. Also, did you flatten down the rounded tip? It gives it more even light spread.
1 more thing... I hope you didn't use blue LEDs, because there's already a blue tint behind it. So using blue LEDs with blue tint is going to make it darker. I used white LEDs and got the same color, but much brighter.

volk did you already do this with leds? I have looked at the inside of the a\c control, and klein was right to use incandescent bulbs, I was gonna use leds but honestly, they could not shine in the way you would need them to shine, so I decided against it, and just bought some blue type 74 bulbs to put in there...I have noticed that blue tint and was thinking of just taking it out, but if it doesn't affect too much, I'll just leave it in...do you have any pics of your setup? I would imagine the blue tint just makes things white, because if I put a clear bulb in there it would be the same as stock, you know it wouldn't turn things blue, I think to get the blue color you need a blue bulb in there. thanks

Klein I used a 74 blue bulb in my shifter indicator, and the red letters would not light up because the blue isn't bright enough to shine through, did you have this same problem on the a\c control ,because I can't see the red defrost there, and was wondering if it's a product of using a blue bulb...thanks

In an early post I thought you said the festoon didn't fit the sedan, or was that referring to something else? The light I'm looking for is a SuperWhite/small hint of blue type light.

>>-Dome Light Bulbs - Front 194\168, Rear is a 31mm festoons
-Map Light Bulbs - Front 194\168, Rear are 31mm festoons <<

So the front ones are the kind of bulbs in the turn signals, small type? is there 4 of these in the front dome? THe rear...31mm festoons, are there 3 here? (2 for map lights 1 for regular dome light)?

One more thing, I have automatic climate control, if I want to change these bulbs (Like the link you posted that MikeD talked about), to a supwerwhite...Which bulb type are they, the names of the small bulbs? And...switches....I have some burned out already (MY TCS switch), doesnt light up, these look like the kind MikeD listed for "All Other switches"...what type is this? part#? Should I just get supwerwhite, do they sell them colored?

Thanks!

I used LEDs. I put WHITE leds in front of each button. Not just one to light up the whole thing. Same with the shifter numbers/letters. You'll have to have more LEDs, preferbally each at the letters. Same with the speedo/rpm cluster, will also need an led in each increment.

The blue tint behind the buttons is for the bulbs, since bulb gives an amber color, it mixes with the blue tint and becomes a 'wannabe' white color. Since I used WHITE leds, it mixed with the blue, and came out totally blue.

The reason why you can see red letters is because you used BLUE leds. The red parts on the AT shifter and AC only "filters" out red. Using blue bulbs doesn't produce red colors, so there is nothing to pass through it.

Now I know why Klien's AC controls has different constrast blue. He only used a blue to try to spread out the light. I used a white LED in each button to give a bright/clear and even glow.

I don't have pictures because my crappy camera has drained it's alkaline batteries and can't upload. I WILL have the pictures by this weekend though.

BTW - When I used LEDs, I meant that it's totally custom. NOT like buying LEDs off the shelf and easily replacing it with bulbs. I do it the right way which is soldering resistors to LEDs, and then custom mounting them behind each button face as oppose to trying to use 1 led to shine the whole AC console up or AT shifter selector numbers.

The festoons I said that idn't work were the led ones from superbrightleds, but that is because they are quite a bit bigger, no nee to worry about that with the incandescent ones pretty much...and as for the doem lights yeah you got it totally right, the fronts are like the ones in corners lights and such...as for the auto a\c I am unsure because I do not have one, and no one has really talked about it....

volk, thats what I figured you did, was an led at each button because there is no way one led would work. I used to own a 5th gen accord, and thats how people did it, but for the legend it just seemed easier to use bulbs...I'd like to see how it came out, so if you'd post pics that would seriously be great...for the auto shifter how'd you do that, I am going to be doing the same thing and doing an led at each letter I just would like any info, I found out how to calculate the resistance and all that needed, so now I just need to sort of dig in, how did you hook up the leds to a powersource? I may find I need to do an led at each button for my a\c but for now it seems a bulb will work as long as it lights up my defroster, but for my shifter it will be leds...also in the shifter what color leds would I need to get a blue color out of the reds? or if I put a red one there and let it light up really red I guess that'd do too...thanks a ton, I had no idea you had even done any of this so any help is appreciated

4 168s in the front(2 for the map lights, 2 for the dome)
3 festoons in the back(2 for the map lights, 1 for the dome)
1 festoon for the glove box
4 festoons for the courtesy light on each door
1 festoon for the trunk light
2 74s for the footwell lights
1 74 for the ignition ring
1 74 for the shifter display
1 74 for the cigarette lighter
1 74 for the ashtray
4 74s for the AUTO CLIMATE CONTROL-- i have done this with incandescent bulbs. i bought hyperwhite. you can remove the the oem bulbs by unraveling the wire from the white base and GENTLY placing the bulb between your teeth and pulling the base off the bulb. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! if you try to use needlenose, you will break the bulb. if you have a better way of removing it, thats great; but i like to live on the edge, and a glass bulb in my mouth is how i chose to do it!! then, take a sharp knife and place the blade on the top of the base parallel to the 2 small holes in the base where the wires slide thru. press down on the bade until you have split the upper part of the bas half way to the solid part of the base. the purpose in doing this is to ensure that the new bulb slides all the way into the white base. then, straighten out the wires on the new bulb and slide them thru the holes in the white base. you are going to have to solder an extension onto the wires to wrap them around the white base like the oem bulbs were. if you plan on doing this, pm me and i will give you my number to walk you thru it. i may have taken the hardest route in doing this, but i couldnt find anyone that had done this. if you remove the amber plate that covers the digital display, the colors of the new bulbs and the display will be almost a perfect matching blue.
TOTAL:
10 74s
4 168s
9 31mm festoons
