Ipod Interface - Standard (factory) Bose radio

What brand of 'hard wired' interface for use with an iPod works well with the factory Bose (standard) radio in a '91 Legend L Coupe? The FM modulator isn't cutting it for me. I realize I will have to disconnect the Alpine 6 disc changer currently installed - no worries there.

Thanks

Vaul

Blitzsafe Hon/Alp V.1D if you want to keep your CD changer too: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s..._MLINK1_D.html

Just installed one last weekend in my dad's coupe: it worked like a charm!

Word... props to Stevieray for this find. I wouldn't have bought it without a solid review from him.

Also... +1 to the iPod in ashtray DIY in the DIY section!

The Blitzsafe unit has it all over the USA SPEC, particularly if you already have or want to add an Alpine CHA-634 changer. It does the pin swap so you don't have to have a HON/ACU-ALP adapter, just the Alpine KCA-130B cable to do the M-Bus to Ai-Net conversion. Last I looked, the Blitzsafe can be had at Enfig or logjamelectronics.com for about $79.

I think it was a little more at logjam then enfig but both are easy to deal w/ companies!

Explain the pin swap discussion to me stevie: we didn't do anything w/ my dad's stereo (was already working w/ OEM DIN connection so it has the adapter on the changer side of the cable and the blitzsafe on the other)... should I be pulling the adapter out in the trunk or what?

Only thing you'll want to note: it took quite a bit of force to insert the OEM DIN cable into its port on the Blitzsafe... make sure the pins are lined up and push.

Hey, Thanks for the props on the ashtray ipod dock DIY but i have been wanting to charge as well. found this online.

iCarKits - iPod Car Adapters - 1994 Acura Legend

a little pricey but it charges, plays, and controls your ipod from the factory headunit and steering controls. no changer but you may or may not want cds if you have an ipod or iphone. I also want my iphone to play in speaker mode through my stock speakers. If i dont go with this, ill get the Blitz.
