JDM console install |<-->| this close to done (PICS!)

so i bought a dvd headunit and finally found the perfect screen today and i had the balls a couple days ago to start the project. i spent a total of about 14 hours installing this stuff. and before you guys ask, i'm gonna list a couple of the main points you will want to know about....

THE CONSOLE / CLIMATE CONTROL

- yes the console will fit... if you remove the parking brake. and no the little curved part will not fit, unless you get the jdm armrest/console (which i dont have yet.. its on its way)

-the jdm climate control is plug and play. it works just fine with usdm wiring. but it is in C instead of F

- i gutted the jdm stereo to mount my headunit in it. this took about 7 hours of fitment and drilling and cutting. the headunit is a PIONEER dvh-p5000mp. i've had 2 of these now, they are amazing headunits. plays dvd, vcd, mp3, cd, etc etc etc does so much...

-to fit a headunit down below at the angle that you need it at, i had to cut out most of the metal bracing inside the center console. this took many many hours. i had to hammer and chisel out the welds.. i went through about 20 or so cut off saws on the dremel... and it was too big to get in where i needed it.

- the jdm wood fits good.. but its not secured by its tabs.. it is secured very very tightly by the shifter trim ring. it does a great job of holding it tight against the console and the headunit/climate control.

THE SCREEN / NAVI TRIM

-the screen is a farenheit 6509MSV 6.5" screen. it is very daylight readable. brightest screen you can find for in car application. it is 450 nits with a resolution of 1200xsomething. it has 1 input and comes with the trim bezel for a sunvisor. i trimmed the bezel on the sides maybe a couple millimeters.. it pressure fits very snugly and perfectly in the JDM navigation trim.

- i gutted a usdm hazzard button and custom fit the insides of it in the jdm hazzard switch, so its plug and play also.

- the jdm clock i have wired up right now, it is an alpine clock so wiring is completely different than the usdm clock. i haven't hooked up the wires yet.. i've been too busy putting the screen and headunit in.

i think that about covers everything. any more questions ask away!

and finally, heres the pics i have (CLICK THUMBNAILS TO VIEW FULL SIZE)
