JDM, coupe visors, DIY install

Mods??????? Move to DIY section?????????????

Okay, listen up all you kids!

First:
Open your door.
Second:
Remove the three phillips screws from behind the door rubber, HERE:

Third: Pull the rubber seal out of the door, that the window slides up into and seals around the window. You'll need to pull out the top, and back of door top, about 4 inches or so, and the front down to about the top of the mirror triangle trim piece. Just notice where the visor sits in this pic, that is the area of rubber window track you pull out!

Fourth:
If you look up inside where the rubber used to be, you will notice kind of a track that is in the same shape as your clips on the visors. You hold the visor in place and you can very easily snap those clips into the track behind where the rubber was. I started with the top rear clip, and kind of worked my way toward the front, at the end I just slid it towards the back of the door, and the last clip, by the word "LEGEND" just locked into place.

Fifth: Carefully re-install the winow condom, eeerrrr, rubber, and close the window.

I havn't rolled my windows down yet, and am kind of scared to, cause, they weren't sealing correctly before. But, WTF, my A/C works great, so who needs windows anyway!

More pics:

Looking nice!!! More black for the black-on-blackcpe... Lets see close ups too
Youre talking about the window rubbers that act like tracks when you roll them up right. Mine are cracked and bent so I got some in very good shape. Were they easy to put in?

I always wondered what the purpose of the part is? Is it for looks or so you can crack your windows open in the rain not not get wet??

either way it looks good on your black car!!

Nice DIY but i'm affraid for many of us it simply isn't that easy. I remember when I installed mine a while back the rubber seal had a hard time staying in place after I put the clips in. Then when I was driving I could hear the visors shaking, one ended up flying off the driver side window while the car was moving. Luckily no one was behind me and I was able to retrive it in once piece, but god do I hate the way acura designed them....

Yeah, I don't believe they are meant to be driven with windows all the way down, cracked maybe. That's okay, just as long as My A/C don't quit, and I've converted her to R134 already sooooo.

I honestly don't know how else they could do it though. Wifes Monte Carlo they just stick on with double face tape, but her door has ALOT more door above the window, unlike ours..........

Thanks, I think it's so you can crack your windows and not get wet. They're nice for smokers to I think. But I wouldn't drive round with the widows all the way down.................

nice job.

I used to have a set like these on my durango. I loved them. their main purpose is so that when u crack the window, wind doesn't get in, also so that whenever u have the window open rain has less chance of getting in.

This design is far better then the stick on kind IMHO!

Dude, should have listened to you. I thought you meant you rolled it down a long ways. I tried to crack the drivers side a bit and WHOOOOOOSSSSHHHH, visor's on the side of the road and the rubber was hangin there. I must have done a hell of a repair job though cause it was still in one piece, hahahahaha.

MORAL TO BE LEARNED HERE:
If you have JDM visors, don't even THINK about rollin windows down.

YOUHAVE BEEN WARNED!
