Basically... no. The way I understand it is the factory head units one external amp per speaker where as most after market head units have the amp built into the stereo. You couldn't simply flip a switch. Maybe you could have the OEM stereo hooked up as the main stereo and have the after market head unit hooked up to the monitor and get a 2 channel hook up to the speakers through the OEM stereo. I honestly don't know enough to tell you how feasible that is though. I don't even know if the CRT on the navi has a standard fitting. It might be a standard composite, but then again, it might be a seeming random feed of wires.

Heres what I would do if I were you, when you actually get the navi CRT, look at the connectors and see if its a standard fitting. If it is, put the after market head unit in the dash and wire up the OEM CRT. If its not... I guess you'll have to rethink things.

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once

Yeah, that should work. SHe sent me an email today saying we could meet up at the end of the month to get them back. So.....um...i'm thinking I might just make a day out of it in some sort of paint program and copy paste the translation over the existing Kanji if it doesn't screw up the pics. Whats up with your brochures/manuals? how hard would it be for you to scan yours and what program would you be using to upload it? Adobe?

So you guys that are putting in JDM consoles...whats the story with the air con vents top and bottom ?

As the USDM and EDM consoles have only one set of vents, do you actually hook up to both sets or only one...say the bottom

If hooking up to both how much extra ducting do you have to find and how difficult is it ?

Also anyone found a replacement TOUCH screen LCD that interfaces with a GPS receiver or stereo unit?

I'd actually like it to prevent me from getting lost as I'm not clever enough to drive and watch DVD's at the same time

EDM have foot brakes.

So why arent you getting suppiled the ducting to run upper and lower vents with these consoles. I presume that both upper and lower vents would be on one "airflow direction" setting on the air control

Also does the standard double stereo factory unit fro USDM and EDM fit in the JDM Navi consoles

Yes they do, can you get me an pedal legend specific foot brake???

..PLEASE

I have no idea why the navi consoles that I bought were not complete with these ducts, brackets, and vents...I should have waited.

-NO that would not fit in the Navi console because the climate controls are under the vents in the wood trim allowing space for only a single DIN head unit or receiver.

EDIT: Unless you have the smaller OEM factory stereo unit that Kang has.

the top duct want work even if you remove them from the jdm car it's lhd and ours is rhd you would have to turn it over then it dont line up right! but here the jdm navi radioand a/c unit!As far as the upper ducts i'm have them custom made to make mine work right! And if done right it wil have more then one air flow!

U want to go the trouble of installing a foot brake ?

I can get a price for you from a junk yard or wreckers as I call em if you want

You have the foot brake plus the release which is to the left of the steering column. Unfortunately I dont have a RHD coupe workshop manual which would have a diagram of the foot brake system. Would help to know the parts that would be required

On the JDM doesnt the ducting just spilt into top and bottom vents. What exactly are u saying that needs to be turned over?

Does that workshop manual walk you through the installation? Or is it just a diagram. I have a foot brake and I'm having it installed hopefully this weekend. This guy is going to need all the help he can get.

Haha, if I had a manual, that would mean I wouldn't have had an e-brake over the last three months. I'm positive that wouldn't had worked... Autos are better anyway

The JDM console looks much better, It would have been better if it had a decent modern Sat Nav system tbh. I am sure you can fit a pioneer avic unit in somehow!
