I think you have to remove the bumper to get the headlights out. I should have checked when I was installing my fog lights lol.

That is correct, at least for the G1 sedan. Get the bumper off and it's pretty straightforward. Just be on the watch for rusted fasteners holding the headlight housing on.

Just out of curiosity, how much would it cost for me to get a retrofit done, parts and labor all inclusive? Those look pretty sharp, and the light output increase is dramatic.

The LS430's are perhaps the widest but not the brightest nor do they offer the best cut-off...

While some may want wide, I could handle half as wide and brighter / better cutoff. In the end, it's 100x better than OEM and the install will go smoother.

S2000 Projectors
Labor
Ballasts
Harness

= $1075.

Provided you provide the headlights.

Definitely not for everyone.
As for me though, my saving grace is that I have my OEM headlight and I have 6000K Philips Ultinon in there already so I'll sell them and make some money back....

Labor = 400
Ballast = 200
Harness = 75

1075.

It adds up.

S2000 Projectors are hard to find now.
Try to find them on ebay and tell me what you find.

yes, s2k projectors are harder to find, but not $400 hard to find...

I got all the supplies to do the retrofit for <$300, mind you thats me pulling the headlights from a pick-a-part, aftermarket HID kit (not OEM so save $100 there) bulbs and ballasts, d2s bulbs, tsx projectors (so although they aren't s2k, they are still clear lenses). labor is a little difficult, but shouldn't run you more than $300, I can see the whole thing done for $500 if you shop around, but if you feel you will recoop a lot of the cost, then more power to you.

Bottom line is, I'm going w/ somebody that's done it hundreds of times from the STi forums and he's a god at this.

Not saying you guys arent good at it but I'm the type that I like to see many many examples of good work and everything I ever saw this guy do, I was impressed with...
