Keep Tint on Windshield???

I went in to the window tint shop Wednesday to see if I could get my windows retinted once again. Right now I have limo on the back and 18% on the sides. Keep in mind that you can see through it during the day. I can even see through my limo tint at certain angles also......but only at times

I wanted to to get my sides retinted to limo just as my rear window is. The guy breaks it down and told me a better way to go about making my windows darker would to put a light tint on the windshield. "It'll keep the sun off you while driving, keep the car cooler and would make it look darker in there," is what he told me. I thought to myself that's all I need so I took it in the next day.

Got 50% on the windshield and went on my way. I noticed that is the sun wasn't burning my hand, part of my arm, or even my leg while I was driving around. However, I notice a big difference while driving during the evening. And driving in my coupe during the evening is one my favorite things to do. Not only that, but I can still see in my side windows just as good as I did when there wasn't any tint on the winshield. The only difference in the "darker" effect is when looking at the car head on. And that's only a SLIGHT difference.

So here's another one of my million dollar questions. Should I;

A - Be cool during the day when driving with 50% tint on windshield

OR

B - Tint windows limo, take the heat beaming on me during the day, and be happy as always, driving worry free during the evening hours again

......sorry so long, but I'd like to hear some opinions

I notice a big diffirence in tempracure from sweaching from 20 to 5%

I have 5% bronze on the back and rear sides.
17% bronze on the front 2, and 40% chocolate
on the windshield.
I love it!!
The 5% really keeps out all of the heat.
The tint shop that I go to does not have any
more of the 5% bronze, but as soon as they do
I will have my front 2 done with it.

I got 35% on my windshield and love it.

It is slightly darker to see out of at night but if it gets real bad I compensate by opening the sunroof cover to let a little more light into the car.

i used to have 7% all the way around, no tint on my windshield. but i had to get the front two windowns done, so now they are actually darker, lol. they are 2%. how do i know this you ask?? cause driving back from miami a while ago, i got pulled over and a state trooper measured it. during the day, you can really see into the car from head on. i always get asked if there is tint on the windshield, but there isnt. i would say take the tint off the windshield, and get the sides redone in limo.

DJ, - I would post a pic, but like I said, it's not at all a big difference. The only way you can tell that some tint is on the window is looking at the top of my windshield where the strip from the factory is; looking down you'll notice the windshield has a slight blue look under that strip. Nothing major.

95Legend, - I think I may just do that. Get limo on sides and take tint off the front like I was thinking. I was driving last night and I really don't like it. My hid's don't even look bright anymore. The tint gives em a dull look. It's okay during the day, but I can live without it. I may get it redone sometime this week. This florida sun is a bi*ch.

I got my tint redone this morning. I got Llumar 5% stealth on the rest of my 4 windows and the tint from the windshield removed. The look of the car looks so much better. The stealth tint has a mirror effect to it. It blends well with my navy. And when you get up on the windows, it's a nice mirror finish. I've loved how it looks on the rear window, so went ahead and got the rest of the car the same.

And for the record, tint on the winshield makes one helluva difference. I noticed more heat quickly. But hey, I had to sacrifice something. My windshield looks so much better at night now. It's clear and clean like it was. To those who don't have a problem with getting tint on the windshield, go ahead and get it. It keeps you cooler. And remember how I was saying it didn't make the car look darker, well, it does. I noticed how the sun made my limo tint look lighter at times during the day.

I just wanted to keep yall informed.

Peace

I'll post some tomorrow. I too think the the regular black Llumar tint would be better on that gold. I don't think that mirror would hit right with that color. This limo stealth is pretty damn dark. I had my sunroof open this evening, and it was still dark in there when you walked up on the car. It looked bright from the front though. But anywayz, I'll get some pix up for ya without a doubt.

Peace

My windshield is illegally tinted in California, and it's the greatest "mod" I have thus far.

Oh yeah, no doubt about it. It's a great mod. I just prefer a clean a$$ windshield at night. You gotta love looking at hid's at night

The windshield tinting is definately sick, but way too dangerous for my blood! Good choice on the removal and limo on the sides!
