I have had the same trouble. I'm assuming your steering wheel lock is not on. It is due to a worn key or ignition. I put a little wd40 on my key and it seemed to help out.

These cars have pot metal at the back of the lock cylinder. After repeated pushing in on the key it wears the key and dents the back of the lock cylinder, so the key and tumblers no longer match. I put a new tumbler in the first time not knowing...the dealer sent it out to a local locksmith (so don't take it to the dealer) and about three years later it happened again.

The lock tumbler system is about like 275.00 for the part 'plus' install it seems like 125.00 more.

The second time I took it to a real good locksmith that works on those type of things (had to have it towed though because i couldn't get the key to turn or come out).

He adjusted the tumblers and recut the key into a new configuration and said this should last you for a while. Cost me like 50.00. It's been over a year and a half and no problem so far.

i have the same problem. i usually take my key out. place my finger on the key hole push oe wiggle it a few times and try it again and it starts right up. or just take the heel of ur palm and tap right below the ignition. either way works for me.

you need to wiggle around the steering wheel a bit. hondas have that kind of issue. my honda sometimes does that. its just something is up with the lock mechanism.

Yeah, I did the shake the key and move it around thing for a while, but when it finally locks up where the ignition won't turn or even release the key, it's probably going to be in the worse place possible, raining and at night (it was).

I'd take it to a locksmith that can work on it and reset the tumblers and rekey. Not just all of them can do it or are willing to, or you can put it off for a while like I did, but I wouldn't recommend it.
