The Kitty Kar Build Thread

For those of you who haven't made the move to .org and since this is the original home of kitty kar, I'm posting this over here as well as at .org...

Here she comes baby!

A few of you wanted updates on my progress so I'm going to go ahead and start the thread. My plans were to post the compilation at the finish, but I might need this thread to ask some questions

First off, I will thank all of those who have helped me out with questions and/or parts up to this point. (in no particular order ) This is my first build and my biggest project I've ever taken on and I couldn't do it without the help I've received. I've basically gone into this project blind. If you don't believe me, I had to ask what those "thingys" were under the fuel rails This is truly a learning experience as I am doing all of the work myself.

I hope I didn't miss anyone

So here we go, from beginning to end. Wish me luck!

Arrival of my 3.5 from a 2003 RL with 53k

Goody box compliments of Alperovich and some of the parts I ordered from AoS. The yellow notepad you see contains weeks worth of notes from reading and asking questions. Us girls are organized like that

Partial teardown of the 3.5

And today I spent all afternoon prepping the valve covers. I'll spend the entire day down at the body shop finishing those and working on the intake manifold. Kyle, owner of Kirk Kustoms, has been so gracious as to let me come into his shop and do my own work and taking his time to instruct me on how to go about with this project.

Make sure you add 3/4" spacers between the firewall and the clutch pedal

Very nice. 3.5 RL engine with Type2 intake mainfold. I'm sure there are more surprises in store for the Kitty Kar.
