Ksports being installed tonight, heading to the track tomorrow
www.quakercityraceway.com
It's a notoriously slow track, with a 3-4 degree upward slant on the last 100 feet of the track. A lot of my buddies are heading out, so I'm taking the kids out there and I'll probably go a couple runs just to see where I'm at before this winter's upgrades. I don't know how serious I'll get since I'll be trying to tune my suspension half the time. I can't wait to NOT have the back end squat like one of those dogs scooting his ass across the carpet because he has an itchy butthole. Wish me luck. It's the first time back to the track since I had my crappy Type I running mid 15's on stock wheels and tires with a SR intake and damn near stock exhaust. EDIT: We're going to Dragway 42, a much better track

Full firm out back and between midway and full soft out front. Good luck
The 3-4 degrees sucks but it shouldn't slow you down too much since the first 60ft is what counts most in drag. The MPH may be down a bit, but the ET will be fairly close to a flat run. Quote:

I'm probably not going to do any serious modifications from my normal daily driver mode to track mode. Full interior, sub in the trunk, maybe I'll pull the spare tire. I don't think it will matter. It's just to get a baseline run to get another aspect on the effectiveness of the modifications I'm doing this winter.
Maybe I'll get stupid and start pulling seats, It depends on how damn hot and muggy it is tomorrow.

Well, scratch that, we're going to dragway 42. A much better track. I thought we were going to Quaker.

I got them installed in about 2 hours with no real problems. I had my ride height waaaay too low in the back. Tire was fully tucked. I had to turn it out 8 revolutions and I'm still partially tucked. I'm still working on adjusting the fronts.

I got the ride height all adjusted and drove home. No problems. It's a little bouncy in the rear, I may turn the damper down a bit.
I went 3 turns in the rear, 2.5 turns in the front. I have 3 tight S-turns on the way home that I hammered through with no problem. Nothing like an empty road at midnight. Pics tomorrow after I clean her.

I want to hear how it went...first 1/4 mile run on the forum with a 3.5 (aside from Christian obviously). It'll be nice to finally have some numbers, plus everyone else doing the swap will have some idea what to expect.

It didn't go well. The first run of the night, I pulled a .18 reaction time, a 2.2 section 60 foot, then had a hard time getting it into 3rd gear down the track. I ended up running a 15.5@91mph with that screw up.
I thought it was a fluke until I ran the next run and lost 3rd gear all together. Yup, I killed it. I knew I had a little bit of a 2-3 synchro problem, but I didn't think I could kill it all together. I'm glad I work at a transmission shop though. There is a video of my first run that a friend has, I'll get the vid and post it as well as my time slip.

Bummer.
I guess its fair to say to those idiots out there that think they can slap shit together and run fast times & put up big numbers; it takes time, money and experience. Good job nevertheless Mike, don't worry about it, I had plenty of those setbacks here and there. Consider it experience, priceless experience. ~Dv8
