Labor cost for Axle replacement?

Removing both front axles. Got a quote from raxle.com (thanks for the site guys!)

Any estimates on how many hours/cash it'll cost?

Took me about an hour each side the first time I did it. Would have to believe I am a bib slower than your typical flat rate. This is really not that hard, have you considered doing it yourself?

Time, tools and and warm place to work are definitely a luxury. I was wondering why you are replacing axles? Did you rip a boot, or are the TL's prone to the dreaded vibration that shop monkeys try to write off to unbalanced tires?

Ripped a boot. There is a vibration at 55 mph as well. Its definitely not the tires.

I'm at 138,000 miles and its time to replace them anyway.

Just replaced my axles last week. I decided to go with genuine acura axles to reduce the likelihood of having the undesirable vibrations that I have heard about when using aftermarket parts. My total cost, parts and labor was $480. This included a 3 year warranty on both the parts and labor. It was a bit pricey but I have a very smooth ride and I am satisfied.

The book time is about 1.5 hrs per side. With no complications, should take about 1 hr per side. Need to add about $12 for each new axle nut.

I found a small tear in one of my boots, so that was a perfect opportunity to replace both sides last weekend. I went with new ones from Napa. Cost was 109 each, and came with a lifetime warranty. Definitely helped out the vibration.
