All Type I Legends were available with either 4-speed auto or 5-speed manual, and all Type II Legends were available with either 4-speed auto or 6-speed manual transmissions. This is true for both coupe and sedan.

Easiest way to tell if it is a Type II is to look at the engine. The intake manifold will have a Type II badge on it.
Otherwise, all '93-'95 (L and LS) Coupes and '94 and '95 GS sedans come with Type IIs. All others come with Type Is unless it has had a transplant. |
