Lower Control Arm Replacement (Finding parts)

Hey guys. I recently went to get my car's alignment done. I know it's quite off since I lowered her 2" and installed a camber kit. When I got to the place they told both my lower ball joints were shot (I suspected this) and the lower control arm bushes (Ahh, that's where that squeek was coming from). He gave me a quote on the work and I went on my way figured I'd do it myself.

So I hop on my favorite car parts sites looking for the parts. Locating the lower ball joints was not a problem. However, the lower control arm was. Every place I went to had the lower and upper for the rear and the upper for the front; ranging around $150. No one has the lower control arm. The places I did find that had it were charging around $400 (what the alignment guy quoted me).

I know you can't replace the lower control arm bushing without replacing the entire lower control arm. Is there any place out there that sells these parts for a more reasonable price?

Hi,

Actually!!!

You CAN replace the lower control arm bushes. I gave mine to a suspension place
and had them measure up a suitable pair from a vehicle with approx. the same wheight!

Works like a charm, and cost me $150.- parts and labour.

Hope this helps….

Cheers

We already told you what was wrong with your car.

yea, you dont have to buy the whole control arm (the huge triangle piece). the bushings/bushes are removeable and replacable
