The previous owner of my Legend (may God damn his soul) apparently cheaped out on lowering the car as the back springs have given out. I had this roblem diagnosed at a friends work (Les Schwab Tires) and they said they would replace the springs with an Eibach Pro-kit for $550, $300 of that being the kit. So I get the brilliant idea of buying a kit from another user, but as I come to find out... They don't install customer parts.
So. Is there a spring installation DIY? What kind of technical knowledge or tools would be required? Or is there anyone (or any shops) in the Salt Lake area that will install these springs? I'd like to get this resolved soon, and I would be more than happy to pay a private party to install them if it's beyond my technical knowledge. Any and all help appreciated. Thanks, Brian

Yeah, the Eibachs I bought through forum member Jpjp were $140 and the labor on it was to be $150 including alignment. I know they were being straight with me on the diagnosis because my friend checked it out himself, they just won't do any work with parts they can't warranty blah blah and I'm sure part of it is a kickback to them from whoever they buy the springs from. Thanks for the heads up, but I had decided on the Eibach kit myself and they just told me how much they could get it for.
On another note I found a place to install them professionally, but Tyler if you can find a write-up that would be spectacular because I would much rather not pay for labor I can do myself ![]()

Oh and yes, they are in NEED of being replaced lol I thought I lost a shock or strut but they both checked out fine, and my back tires are basically... Oh about a finger width from my wheel well *without* subs in the trunk

It's worth it to buy a Helms manual and learn about your car. I've paid for my manual many times over with the amount I've saved doing work myself.

They dont want to isntall the parts because they get the parts wholesale then sell it to you at list price and make a chunk of profit on the part. So if they charge you only labor they barely make any money. All shops if customers brought thier own parts they woulnt be able to stay in business.

You will need a pair of spring compressors to do this.

You can rent spring compressors at Checker and other major auto parts stores for free. you buy them and they let you return them used no big deal...I installed my springs and its fairly simple, watch out for the ABS sensors
have fun
