You only had one rotor changed? Normally they're changed in pairs / all four at once.

One first solution is to make sure none of your other calipers (or even the new one) are frozen. I believe a typical test is to gauge heat coming off your rotors after a trip. Don't touch the rotor! but if one side is hotter then the rotor on the other, it's safe to say that that caliper is probably frozen and the pads are dragging against the rotor when they shouldn't be.

You won't notice immediate changes in fuel mileage as the engine gets used to being bogged... a highway trip or two will do wonders to improve your fuel economy. I'm sure part the reason I get such seemingly fantastic mileage is that my car regularly sees several hundred mile long cruises.

Ok im not gettin any check engine codes so Im good with that.

Gotta check with this stuck caliper thing because I just got new pads/rotors btu I feel like im not getting the full effect of the damn things and my car makes a noise when I brake now.

As I step on the brakes on 30+ mph it makes this irritatiin TRRRRR noise as if something is touching as soon as the pedal is touched but without pressing the brake its perfectly fine.

Comments ? Suggestions ?

u guys getting really crappy mileage huh? i used to get 160 on half a tank so about 320 on a full tank... i never fill up because it feels heavy on a full tank and i hit redline about 4-5 times a week.... id say check tire pressure and alignment also if its that bad, especially if its mostly stock.

thats not the thing I think its because I have a little highway commute and more local. The other day I made a 140 mile trip bothways. Filled it up and that needle barelyy moved from its place..

Key to that I put it at 70 cruise control and all highway.

That week I got clos to 350 to the tank.

Question

Okay, so I used one bottle of Lucas cleaner, is it good to use another or should I wait for 3000 miles to pass like it says on the bottle? Also, I noticed that the car drives sluggish when ever I fill up on BP Gas, but when I use Shell, I feel an extra Push..... Why is that?

I told you use Shell even though BP is thought of as one of the best...its not at least for our cars.

With shell v-power it burns less also so its better. When my dad told me bout this bp/shell difference I thought he was just old and crazy but now I seen it myself.

I noticed that BP burns very fast and feels rough on my car, when I use shell, a major difference... So from now on I use Shell.... I only used BP because the last company I worked for paid for the Gas....

I am taking the car in tomorrow for a flush, so I hope that will work in some way to give me a little more MPG..... I am also looking to by a new intake, the weapon R, so I hope that will also give me some extra MPG....

By the way, I saw with my own two eyes that Honda makes a Type-2 Anti Freeze, so ram3ez is right as I saw it with my own eyes.....

Don't expect an intake to help - mine didn't help noticably. Though, when was the last time you replaced the air filter in your stock intake?

Well, the improved airflow *can* help but it assumes your driving habits do not change at all. However, inevitably, you'll enjoy the sound of the intake so you'll drive harder at first, which will hurt your mileage slightly. Once you give up on that and return to normal, you may notice a minor improvement but you're talking about tenths of miles per gallon if that.

I have a K&N Filter, I recharged it a few weeks ago, so I am not to sure if it is that..... I just don't know what else to look for when it comes to this.... I am spending way too much on gas to get such little MPG........

If the filter's clean, that shouldn't be a big problem.

A couple good points that were brought up that I'm not sure you've answered. What's your tire pressure like? I doubt it'll make a big difference but what kind of tires are you running? Stock wheels?

Are you getting any check engine lights?

Have you tried seafoam? Seems people around here swear by it though I haven't heard of any miraculous mileage improvements.

i am getting crappy gas mileage too but no real reason why. tire PSI has been good ever since i bought the car. plugs were changed. 91 octane is being used.

i got a chip from Telion and my mpg stayed the same/went up by tenths of a gallon. one night it threw an 02 sensor code. i reset the ECU, and the code hasnt come on since. for the hell of it, i ordered 2 02 sensors from sparkplugs.com and we'll see if that helps. everything is in good working order as far as my engine goes, so i really cant pinpoint what it is. i suppose the fuel filter could be changed, but ive heard that the only way changing a fuel filter is gonna help your mpg is if its already clogged, and mines not. ive also used FI cleaner to no avail. well i guess its helping some. when i first got the car my mpg was 14.8 now its up to 16, but i still think it should be more, considering i dont drive with the A/C on at all. these 02 sensors are coming tomorrow so i hope they make an improvement and i will keep y'all posted about that.
