Car 1: 1994 Acura Legend GS

My baby wrecked my baby

Could have been worse but after 6 months of using dad's old car, 16 yr old daughter rear ended an accord. For now it'll only get the cheap fix. I still drove it all week for work but now I'm done. Can't drive a wrecked car. 220000 miles and over 10 yrs of ownership, it was the best car I've ever owned. Never wrecked til now, not even a fender bender. Last year it crawled out from under a tree with only a windshield and passenger mirror damaged.
I barely slept knowing it was f'd up in the garage. How do I get over this?

does look to bad bro!

looks like you may need a headlight, some paint on the bumper, and a new hood. maybe some radiator support work.

take a few pics with the hood open around the radiator support area, and we might be able to help you figure out what you need.

sux. hopefully the girl (edit:assuming wreck=girl, haha) learned her lesson in driving safe! beautiful GS btw!!

Kick your daughter out of the house. LOL
It does not look too bad from the picture but it is hard to tell. Any structural damage at all? Is it just the hood/grille that is damaged? That does stink though- I feel for you. You drive it all those years/miles and take great care and...

I know the feeling! I was sick to my stomach for a few days after I had messed up the front end of my coupe.

Can't see your pictures because I'm at work right now and photobucket's blocked, but I do remember the last time you posted pictures and mentioned that your daughter would be driving the car. It looked mint! I had a feeling at that time that it might be a bad idea giving such a nice car to a new driver. I wrecked my mom's Legend when I was 16 as well.

Best of luck to you in the repairs. Get it back on the road where it belongs!

From the looks of it, the radiator was untouched, the lights are both angled in, so whatever they are mounted on needs replacement, and a new hood. The grill looks to be ok. Just went out to the garage and did a little bending on it. Its not getting a new hood. Both front quarter panels and the front bumper and fine. I don't want to open the hood til I get to my bro-in-laws garage thursday but I suspect we'll do a little more bending and call it good. My daughter will still get to use the car for work and hopefully learned something from this. I, however, will no longer be driving the car that has stirred my soul for the past 10 years. That Titan truck does not cut it. Here's a couple more pics.

Definitely not here to talk about the kid. Looking elsewhere on the web assistance with her.

Let me get off my chest what she has done to the car one item at a time. Maybe I'll feel better.

RULE #1

OK, its a black car, everyone knows you don't lean or rub or write all over a black car when its dirty or it'll scratch.

WHAT THEY DID, to break rule #1.

I notice a shitload of little henpeck scratches all over the fender and doors. Squirrels? No. Daughter in studded leather belt hanging out with other daughters/dudes with studded leather belts on MY FRIGGIN BLACK GS. Brightside is we know the pants were on.

One day it comes home dirty except for the hand rubbed flames coming from the front wheel wells and racing numbers written on the doors. Do not put FLAMES on the legend with your grubby mits. Never adorn the sleeper GS like its a hotrod.

There, I feel a little better but there's more violations.

At first I wondered why you wouldn't replace the hood. Then you mentioned that the daughter will still be driving it and I completely understood, ahahaha. That'll teach her: make her wear the badge of wrecking a beautiful car!

Seriously though, glad no one was hurt and all in all things didn't turn out so bad.

^^ Man- You have me laughing and crying thinking about what you described. Not to laugh on your expense but I can just picture it. If it makes you feel any better, my wife (who is not near a teenager age anymore- don't tell her I said that) was wearing a studded belt and ruined two of our dining room chairs with it- our formal dining room. Dug right into the cherry wood. We took a trip to the inlaws this weekend in my white coupe and the first thing I asked before she sat down is where is that damn belt!
