Thumbs up My Review Of The Rangerjoe Cai

I have a 1 piece Rangerjoe CAI powder coated black without the bypass valve.

I always find reviews of a product helpful in making the decision when I buy something, I love reading a well written review like Koji's even if I am not going to buy the product. So I hope this will be helpful for all.

However at this time I will just get straight to all the main points, as I know some people don't like reading and reading long posts, plus I am in a rush. I will add more details later or answer any questions, comments.

Installation: Relatively straight forward and simple. The hardest part for me was removing the stock resonator box, it gave me some trouble becuase the screws on my bumper light and fog light covers were rusted shut. Talked to Phil on the phone several times during install for questions and he was very nice and helpful, stayed on the phone helping for quite some time while we worked on it. We ended up just breaking off the last piece of the resonator box and had no major problem after that. He also has installation pics and instructions included and is always available on aim or by phone for help if you need it. I give it a 7 for ease of install, only becuase I had difficulty, not on the part of the CAI.

Fit and Finish: The quality of all the parts is amazing. Honestly I was very impressed. It really looks like a cold air intake kit professionally made at a level you would expect from AEM or INjen or a big company that produces the best performance products. The filter is a K&N, best you can buy. The finish on the pipe is beautiful and it is mandrel bent and very slick looking. It comes with all necessary parts such as breathers/nubs, hose clamps, extra rubber tubing to prevent rubbing, etc.. Somehow I did not receive the hose clamps that were supposed to come with it by mistake, however I called him and I got them within 2 days! Excellent customer service....I was impressed. 8 out of 10.

Performance: Simply put: The performance gains are amazing, you will NOT be disappointed in anyway. Over stock, over a short ram, or even a ghetto CAI, you WILL feel the difference. These gains are clearly felt in seat of the pants feel, it jumps out at you. You can see the gains on the dyno charts also:

CAI Dyno Chart

10 out of 10.

Sound: The sound is the best part. It SCREAMS from 5k to redline, it is simply an amazing sound. I love it, the CAI is the favorite part of my car now becuase of this. I also have Remus, straight pipe, HIDs, jdm's, etc, this is still my favorite and most recommended mod. 10 out of 10.

Thumbs up to Phil for developing a GREAT product! I tell him all the time how much I love the CAI. If you guys want, I have some street stories proving it works, talk to me on aim

I will add more to this review later.

Thanks for posting that. I'll add my review to this thread when I get mine. Phillip has been great to deal with and I have no doubts I will be thrilled with my CAI when I get it!
