Need a couple parts for the GS... Where to buy?

If anyone has or can get me a piston for the rear brake caliper for my 94GS Sedan I would appreciate it. I will pay for shipping and the part..doesn't matter. If not, is there any place I can order one...or would my best bet be going to a junkyard and take off the whole caliper?

Also need to replace the axles... For those who have gotten new axles, where did you buy yours and how much did it cost? My car has been on jackstands for a week now and it needs to be put back into commission. Thanks fellas.

If you can't find good used ones and want new oem, use www.acuraparts247.com they are fast and the cheapest prices, better than AOA I beleive.

If you buy used be sure they are off a Type II, most people selling them may not know the difference.

For axles I have heard bad stories about aftermarket ones, like noises and problems, etc.

My new passenger axle cost me 250 or 300 at the dealer, and it's INCOMPLETE. You have to rebuilt the inner joint using your old axles part.

My driver, I got lazy and didn't want to spend so much cash and go remanufactured axle, and they VIBRATE during acceleration and at idle. I'm so pissed. I'm just going to buy boots and grease, and just clean out and repack my old driver's axle.

Oh man... You guys have me scared now... I'm going to be pissed if I end up putting in reman. axles and have any problems with them. I know they have lifetime warranty but not only am I going to be mad but my mechanic who works on my car for nearly free won't want to install them twice.

I just went to Autozone before reading this post and got both sides.. Remanufactured of course. $69 for one side.. $79 for the other side I believe... with $80 core charge for each side. I'll have to call acuraparts247 tomorrow or on Monday and see if I can get them there brand new. Like I said earlier, now you guys have me worried. On that note... Is there anyone that has gone w/ remanufactured axles and had success??? If so, please let me know.

Anyways, thanks for the info and if anyone knows of an older legend junked and can get me a rear caliper off it, I appreciate it.

For the rear brake caliper it is the same as all 91-95 Legends. So any year will fit. Only the front calipers you will need the specific TYPE II calipers.

I don't know about other places that sell new axles, but I know that the new axles from the dealer is incomplete, and that you will need to reuse the inner joint parts, pack with grease and boot it up!

I do my own work on my car, so I'm pissed myself that I will need to rebuild my old axle, and remove the remanufacture axle all over again! I work on axles all the time, from all my cars, and my friends/family. I HATE rebuilding them, so dirty and grease EVERYWHERE. Anyways, It seems to me that remanufactured axles going bad are common only in Legends. I never heard of such problems when I was on the Prelude forum, or other Hondas.

If you do a search on "vibrate axle" in this forum, you'll get plenty of threads!
