Unhappy Need help on deciding to keep car?

Here's the scnerio with my car:
I've owned it for 2 yrs (Dec 04) bought it w/ 81k now has 108k. I paid it off in July and ever since then have had a rack of problems. One the check engine light is on turned out to be EGR valve so i put that off for a while since it wasn't that serious. Then late this summer car started overheating so I put in the shop immediately... and also had the EGR valve fix done that cost 560 bucks. Acura didn't find anything suspecious about the car overheating just put anti-freeze in it. Then Sept car overheated again, same reason. So i went to get an Oil change again and also to tell them to turn the chk engine light back off because it was back on, and also I wanted them to recheck my car since it overheated. So this morning the dude comes to me to give me the status on my car he has a list of problems:

The reason the chk engine light came on is because of another EGR valve problema apparently all that money i paid them was spent on them cleaning the dumb valves and the actual problem is a EGR Solenoid EST: 360$

THe rest I don't even know about:

Rear Tramission Mount - 475$
Right OUter CV boot 250$
Right Inner and left inner tie rods- $400
Alightment $80
Both Front INner Frender Liners $400
Rehang Front Bumper (Its reallly low) $130 *I paid some shop 100 bucks for this already but an accident knocked it back down.
R/F Turn Signal Lense $175 *from accident
Front Brake Pads + Rotors $485

Total: $2755

I know that's jive steep because its w/ Acura..some of this stuff I had done at another shop I"m looking at an old invoice from oCt 03 i had axle shaft replace for 108.00 .

So basically what im trying to figure out is should i try to get ALL this stuff down at side shops or should i just sell my car because its too old to put this money back into? Car will be 13yrs old 05.

Help
Thanks

It really depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you want to keep it for a few more years then pay to get it fixed at an independent Acura/Honda shop. If this is not your plan, selling might be the best, but you will take a huge loss selling a car that needs so much work. It is usually recomended to fix the car first and sell it for more money than just selling it as is.

If you decide to fix it it be in your wallets best interest to drop it off in Easton Pa for a week.

Hard to say whether to keep or not to keep. I'd have to see pics of your car.

Regarding the repairs:

Dealer is the most expensive place to shop and repair.

Rear Tramission Mount - 475$
Buy it on Ebay - much cheaper

Both Front Inner Frender Liners $400
Buy them used from a salvage yard

Rehang Front Bumper (Its reallly low) $130 *I paid some shop 100 bucks for this already but an accident knocked it back down.
This is easy enough to do by yourself

R/F Turn Signal Lense $175 *from accident
Buy it on Ebay - much cheaper

Front Brake Pads + Rotors $485
Ebay again

Good Luck

Do the things yourself or have independant shops do them and buy things online. You'll be happy and want to keep your Legend.

Sell it. It really sucks having regrets about dumping tons of money into a $5K car only to have it be a good car for you but still only be worth $5K when you are done. Look at all the nice cars these guys got here... dump your car and be patient and grab a car that someone else has already been through all the time, trouble and expense to get just right. After owning 24 cars (in the last 20 years), I've learned not to chase dollars into my ride only to have to chase more and more... much easier getting hooked up by someone else.

Stop calling Kelolo "dude" and stuff lol she's a female =)

Kelolo, I would say get the stuff done at a side shop that specializes in Hondas/Toyotas/Japanese Imports. That's what I do I haven't had any problems. Dealers are too expensive imo. If you want dealer parts, ask how much the part would cost u to buy at the dealer and then take it to them for install if they'll do that. Labor @ Acura is expensive.

As mentioned, some parts might be found on Ebay. The fender liners new are around $70 each and if you can change a tire you can remove and install the liners. The A/T rear mount can be purchased for around $125 at discount. 2 hrs max to install. The R/F turn signal lamp assy used to retail for $72. Use www.car-part.com to locate parts. Can also provide links to salvage yards in your area having Legends. Look into either a Brembo rotor or quality aftermarket. Changing pads and rotors is also a basic DIY repair. Alignment is a normal maintenance cost. Tie-rods and boots are also normal maintenance costs given age of vehicle.

The bottom line is how much to repair vs newer old vehicle with unknown repair costs.

With the Legend, as it is now an old vehicle maintenance costs will become expensive as parts wear out and require replacement. If you cannot or do not wish to perform your own DIY repairs, you might consider a newer used non-luxury vehicle. As mentioned, you will "take a hit" on selling the vehicle in its current condition.

okay its not gonna be in fix it yourself going on over here.
This chick aint crawling on the ground lol.

I"ve thought about it some more if i can sell my car for 5000$ its current blue book value and find a decent ride for 10k or less than I will get rid of the legend...
