Hello,
I bought a set of 17 velocity chrome rims over the weekend. I had to take them off because when I would go over a bump or a long turn the back fenders would rub on the top sidewall of the tire. I wish I would have done a little more research on them. I spent $800 and now I feel like I'm stuck with them. Here's as much info I have on the rims. I believe the offset of the rims is 40+. The rims were on a Mitsubishi Eclipse before (he sold them to me because he wanted alloy rims for racing - he paid over 1,200 for them). Rims and tires are not even a year old. Tires still have 90% to 95% thread life. Tires are Wanli 235 x 45 x 17 Z. The bolt pattern is 5x114 & 5x100. The width of the rims I'm not so sure. I'm thinking the width of the rims is 7.5. I have basiclly spent all the money I can spend. What options do I have if I want to keep these rims? Should I roll the fenders? How much does that run? Any way to measure offset and width of rim? Any input will be greatly appreciated since I have put an ad to sell them. I wish I would have taken top pictures of the wheels so you could see how much the stood out. I would say 1/8 to maybe 1/4 inch out. At least it appeared like it did. I can put one back rim if it would help. http://photos.yahoo.com/drosa79 Disregard the TL's pics, I'm helping a friend sell her car. I think she should keep it, but she just got a new car ![]() |

Is there any way to get exact measurements of the rims? Thanks
P.S. I know I was a moron for not doing a full research, once I saw the pics of them I wanted them real bad. If you saw the rims in person I would think you see their beauty IMHO. ![]() |

I appreciate the input. I think it's going to be hard to sell them and I feel like I'm going to lose some money. I don't want to use Ebay and pay fees all over the place. I did my research today and found out 45+ is good and 55+ is better. I wish I did have more money so I could go to a rim shop and get the correct ones but I don't. After this headache, I'm just going to have to do more research on the type of rims I buy from third parties. I'll also have to try on the rear rims and make sure they don't hit before I pay for them. Thanks again-
