Unhappy Need help with Velocity Chrome Rims ASAP please!

Hello,

I bought a set of 17 velocity chrome rims over the weekend. I had to take them off because when I would go over a bump or a long turn the back fenders would rub on the top sidewall of the tire. I wish I would have done a little more research on them. I spent $800 and now I feel like I'm stuck with them. Here's as much info I have on the rims.

I believe the offset of the rims is 40+. The rims were on a Mitsubishi Eclipse before (he sold them to me because he wanted alloy rims for racing - he paid over 1,200 for them). Rims and tires are not even a year old. Tires still have 90% to 95% thread life. Tires are Wanli 235 x 45 x 17 Z. The bolt pattern is 5x114 & 5x100. The width of the rims I'm not so sure. I'm thinking the width of the rims is 7.5.

I have basiclly spent all the money I can spend. What options do I have if I want to keep these rims? Should I roll the fenders? How much does that run? Any way to measure offset and width of rim? Any input will be greatly appreciated since I have put an ad to sell them.

I wish I would have taken top pictures of the wheels so you could see how much the stood out. I would say 1/8 to maybe 1/4 inch out. At least it appeared like it did. I can put one back rim if it would help.

Disregard the TL's pics, I'm helping a friend sell her car. I think she should keep it, but she just got a new car

you need at least +45 on a car with 7.5 inch wide rims. They are hitting the lip on your fender. Rolling the fenders will do no good. you should have asked somebody before you bought those. They will never work, unless you do some custom fenders.

Damn this forum and being down, there goes a wasted 800 bucks. Hope you can get your money out of them.

Is there any way to get exact measurements of the rims? Thanks

P.S. I know I was a moron for not doing a full research, once I saw the pics of them I wanted them real bad. If you saw the rims in person I would think you see their beauty IMHO.

if they stick out, and rub, it doesnt matter what the "exact dimensions" are its not going to work.

not tryin to be mean, its just a fact. sell them, and buy something that fits. if you have to spend more money for some good ones, do it. Buy good quality and cry once.

I appreciate the input. I think it's going to be hard to sell them and I feel like I'm going to lose some money. I don't want to use Ebay and pay fees all over the place. I did my research today and found out 45+ is good and 55+ is better. I wish I did have more money so I could go to a rim shop and get the correct ones but I don't. After this headache, I'm just going to have to do more research on the type of rims I buy from third parties. I'll also have to try on the rear rims and make sure they don't hit before I pay for them. Thanks again-
