It's simple: He waited a month because no one else will buy it. Now you know the truth and you shouldn't buy it either.

I see your dilemna, and sometimes there is no easy way to do things, but there is the right way: Tell him what you saw in the carfax, and seriously it is NOT worth buying a car if you cannot title it.

What a shady seller...It is unbelievable how many sellers will not disclose that a car has a junk/salvage title, when they themselves damn well know it.

PASS.

You should pass on this.....too many unknowns, all you really know is this car was totaled at some point. There are too many other good deals out there.....I just sold my wifes/sons 91 coupe for $4000 and it only had 111,000 miles and everything on it was repaired or replaced and it great working order. You will find one like this if you keep looking....find another old guy like me who isn't trying to rape the buyer with a defective car or high pricing.....keep your patience and your money....

I understand what you all mean about dont waste your money!!! But i did. I just got a 92 Legend LS for a grand. It was sold to my friends father at a auction and it had serious damage to it but he had it fixed and its been running every since, then he sold it to his son which is my friend then he sold it to me. I havent had any problems "knocking on wood" So it all depends man. The only reason i got this car is because his father had is fixed and been driving it for years after that major acciendent it was in but she seems to be FINE TO ME NOW...

With a history like that, the car has nowhere near the value the guy is asking. You have no obligation to buy it from him whatsoever. Don't feel bad for not buying it and making him wait, you should be MAD at him for not telling you the truth and full history of it.

bigdad: if this deal didnt go through, i was hoping to get your car! oh well. whoever bought it got a hell of a deal.

okay, so i emailed the guy with the car, sending him a copy of the carfax. he reassured me that the car will pass inspection without a problem; even offered to go with me to get it inspected. if the car has a salvage title now, would it ever get a clear title again? will i have any problems getting it titled/registered (in maryland) with the salvage title? he's askin 4750; with the salvage title, would 3000 be fair? more than enough? thanks guys.

Run, dont walk away from this deal.

ust take a look at all of the advice that everyone has given you from the last bunch of threads. Unless you plan to keep this car for a really long time, just imagine how much trouble YOUR GONNA HAVE trying to resell this vehicle with the current histroy of the car. And as you can probably tell, I dont beleave that anyone on this forum would even touch this car even from another forum member. Take your time to find the right car for you.

why is he selling the car? could the reason be that he can't get it titled in MD?
i'm not 100% sure but i think in jersey if a car has had a junk title then its toast,
take it to the track but it'll never be able to be titled...

p.s. you can get it titled if it has a salvage title though...
