I've been in a V8 5.0L Mustang Automatic though, the car has a lot, A LOT of torque, speed is there always at the low speeds. This particular 5.0 was a Convertible, had full Catback exhaust. So no, I don't think it is the exhaust, I think it's just engine design or something, they don't pull very well at high speeds. Either that or because it was an Auto, but compared to my Legend auto, it's not good at high speed. His Stang also has positive traction, damn talk about crazy ass traction during rainy days!

Anyways, my uncle wants to go out to an official drag strip one day, and test my stock Legend GS.

According to him he wants to do the following:

His 5.0 Conv VS my 94GS
His 5.0 Conv VS my cousin's 64 Stang (215HP)
His Sister's 91 Teg vs my 90 Legend Coupe

I'm sure both stangs will beat me at the beginning, not sure by how much (anyone have any idea), I might begin to gain a lot ground at the end. I'm pretty sure I'll take the 64 Stang, not sure about that 5.0...might be close

He's 99% sure that the 1991 Integra Auto, will take 1990 Acura Legend Auto... I'm pretty sure the Legend will take it, but he seems so damn sure!

ahh.. Family

STOCK V6 Stang vs Type I - Type I will win
Had this every time
GT- depends on the driver ...if he sits there and dumps the clutch or floors his auto, by the time he gets to you, you will be chirping second.

Those stangs do have a lot of aftermarket support, so if he has a blower on it, then yeah., maybe thats why..otherwise...nope!
V6 stangs suck

A stock type-I could not hold its own against pretty much any V8 mustangs from the nineties on. They are torque monsters!

that's why acura got the nsx...which would kill any mustang or bmw.

I agree with others here that the V6 mustangs are a joke. Even the older V8s are a joke at anything over second gear. I raced one with three people in the car on an uphill, which is about the worst conditions for a front driver, and kept dead even with him. If I didn't have anyone in the car or we'd been on the level I'm sure I would have killed him.
