Noise coming from up front...what could it be?

My front passenger side was making noises a week ago, like a creeking noise whenever I drove over even the smallest bump on the road, came to a stop, reveresed, and everytime I turned the steering wheel. Now, the noise went away for about a week, but today the noise came back today. I looked inside the fender to see if anything was leaking or looked broken, but everything was fine. I had my Dad stand next to the wheel while I turned my steering wheel to see if he can hear exactly where it was coming from, but that didn't work either. So, we decided to jack the car up from the front with both front wheels up in the air to get a better look at it. As I lifted it, all you could hear was the creeking noise. So, we got the front in the air and when I went to turn the steering wheel this time, the noise wasn't there. So, I dropped it down to the floor and turned the steering wheel and the noise was there. So, without pressure on the wheels there is no creeking noise, but with pressure on the wheels there is a creeking noise. What could it be....blown shock....bad wheel bearings...etc???

FYI, this all started when I was at a stop light and I heard a real loud bang come from my front passenger side. Again, nothing looked broken or leaking.

I had it checked out today, and it turns out that it is the ball joint on the front passenger side. I'm going to go ahead and just replace both front ball joints at the same time.

It's the lower ball joint. He temporarily fixed it by slightly cutting the boot and spraying in it with silicon spray.

Well, it's a friend of mine doing it at his cost for me for $120.00. He's a certified technician working for an Acura Dealership. So, don't go by my price because it will be more expensive everywhere else you go, unless of course you know somebody.

wow.... someone actually figured it out..... so Sammy.... you had the creaking, squeeking noise whenever, whereever you were driving, and it was the lower ball joints? I had the noise start just after I replaced my upper control arms (along with upper ball joints). Let me know what happens as I have to get this on my things to do list for the summer. Thanx.

Well, I just got my Legend back from the mechanic and the noise is gone. The front lower ball joints were the problem. I also had the mechanic take out my heat shields since they were rattling, so that noise is now gone as well.
