I thought about getting mine done. I checked online for rebuilt injectors & they run $50 - $120 each.

I have an old Integra that was starting to smell like gas. I replaced all of the washers & O rings on the injectors & this did not help. Turns out, the injectors were leaking. I replaced them with new aftermarket & this fixed the problem.

Are the Legend injectors easy to remove / replace?

I've got my mechanic pulling the injectors out of my parts car and am going to get this done. I just paid more than what this is going to cost for tune-up parts for my daughter's '95 Accord.

#1. Remove both plastic fuel rail covers. 4 10mm bolts.
#2. Remove 10mm (x4) fuel rail mounting nuts. Also remove passenger side fuel rail grounding bolt. 10mm
#3. lift wire harness off of fuel rails. Lift fuel rails off injectors. Just lift them out of the way. No need to completely disconnect them. A small amount of fuel will spill out of the rails, no biggie.
#4. Pull injectors out of intake manifold one by one and disconnect them from wire harness. - I used a small right angle pick tool to unsnap the small metal clip from each injector. A small flathead screwdriver will work as well. Leave the clip on the harness plug. *be careful with each injector, they are expensive. I rested each one on a rag while I disconnected the metal clip* Leave the plastic rings in the manifold that the injectors sit in. Leave the rubber grommets on the top of the fuel injectors, they replace them as part of the injector service.
Thats pretty much it. Estimated time approx 30-40 min. The little metal clips on each injector can take some time if your not familiar with them.

Devan's a pro... here is Mello's Removal time trial:

I consider myself mechanically proficient but very meticulous, almost obsessive. But since this was my first time doing this, I studied and followed the manual.

1. Planning - 1/2 hour. This is to get familiar with engine parts, correlate the manual with actual components.

2. Removal - 1 hour. Tools required are wrench and sockets, a fine hobby needle nose plier, LOTS of rags.

If you recycle your injectors, the shipping time will take longer than service time. So I'm guessing 1 week. Meanwhile, clean & scrub all the parts since it will be dirty.

3. (optional) Cleaning - 1 hour depending how anal you are. I practically polished all the injector holes and cleaned surrounding cable & hoses.

4. Install - 1 hour. This is the easiest part but most critical. Make sure all the seals are well oiled and do not force any fitting and connection.

My estimates are worse case scenario. You all should be able to complete in much shorter time.

Wow. Thanks for posting this thread. For the longest time I thought the only real option we'd have for this kind of service is RC, but I'm really glad to know there is an alternative.

I'm going to contact him and get something set up for mine... I'm a big believer in this type of work - it does make a difference!

Getting mine back this week from Gordon. Can't say enough about the quick turnaround. Shipped from TN to WA on Monday and they're back in the mail on Friday. Amazing.

Loosen the service bolt at the top of the fuel filter and remove the gas cap to release fuel pressure.

Install the injectors into the fuel rail first, otherwise you could damage the injector O rings.

Kenso did this injector cleaning a long time ago with a different company. Search his posts. Might be interesting.

Any Updates?

stevieray, do you have any updates in gas mileage since your injector service? Just curious about your results and findings.
