Paint experts i need your help

ok here is the deal.
i order paint from paintscrath. and i got clear also from them .
i prep my bumper , prime it.
Paint with a base coat. the match is clouse to 100% .
Let it dry for over 30 hours.
now here is a problem, i mix clear with paint thiner about 1:1.
after sprying the clear , the paint got darker and you can tell a diffirance now.
is there anything to prewent from making the paint darker .
will using more paint thinner wiht a basecoat make my paint lighter ?

Why did you mix the clear with paint thinner???? I think that paint is ready to spray right on the car.

You haven't got the paint experts to reply yet?

I know that the more you thin, the less you put on at a time. You might want to look into tinting the clear so that you get a lighter color. If you also thin it down more and put less on, you might get the color you want with multiple coats and it will not get too thick.

From this I am assuming you didn't get the spray cans? Maybe you should just use those, since they're pre-measured out.

Are you going to restart with new base paint?

If not, sand the clear down to the base with 1500 and then 2000 grit sandpaper. Then reshoot with thinner clear. I would strip and start over, but I am not a professional.

It should.

thickness vs layering

Cut that thickness down and you should get clearer. The thing is, the clearcoat may be a dark clear and not help the more you layer. Make sure you compare the color as you go.

I am unfamiliar with the paintscratch product. As a rule, a clear will darken the paint. You are never going to achieve a perfect match with a spraybomb. Too many variables: paint mix, clear mix, age of old paint, pressure, and particular paint formula. You also do not want to overreduce the clear.
