Cool Performance Shocker!

Today I drove my leg for about 45 mins on 80-85 cuz i was rushing and when i got off the exit i mashed the gas and it seemed like my car was just screaming floor it! I was really shocked b/c idk i guess my legend is only this responsive when i floor it. But I speed up to get infront of this car and it seemed like we were in tune! But just wanted to share. And ideas of where this came from?

mine is like that too. It's ok when not floored, but doesn't have the chirping tires performance until it's completely floored.

i feel that with an AUTO its really crappy. sometimes it just doesnt shift to where you want it to be. after 4k your VIS does open and it does feel a lot better.

Under the gas pedal is a trans kick down switch, whenever you floor it clicks and downshifts into 1st, 2nd or 3rd depending on your current speed and whether your in D3 or D4
For those that dont know, downshifting from a cruising speed will raise the RPM where peak power and TQ are ususally made. down shift to low and youll blow your shit up. autos are programed not to.

On a 'sort of related' topic - I've just bought a 94 Coupe, driving fully Auto is fine, but if I start in D1 and do a manual shift to D2. it doesnt like it, makes a wierd sounding noise before it changes reluctantly changes up. Is this normal or should I be worried?

Mine does that too so i guess it's normal on our old tran's but instead of doing that just go from D1 to D3 and you will like that a lot better. Even more so if you are trying to get out the hole faster. No it wont shift into 3rd gear from 1st but for some reason it shift's into second a lot faster and more powerful. I can always break loose my tires in second that way. But i would'nt recommend doing that unless you keep up with your tran's fluid changes and basic service's. Back to topic when ever i downshift from a high roll i always give the throttle a quick blip at the moment of the shift point. This seem the have the tran's downshift a lot better.
