Question PIX: Inner fender problem, not the lip..............

Picture I drew is the view of the rear fenders.

Black - outter fender (with paint and stuff)
Red - inner fender with some hard rubber coatings
Blue - Tires

My problem isn't the fender lip, it's the inner fender further up that buldges out. Some suggested using a rubber mallet to hit it in, but for some reason, it's not working for me. Thjat thing is hard like a mofo, and I might have to cut it out.

Anyone have this problem?

I have no clue how my tires tuck that far, because they are 4 inches away. I have 1 finger gap of space. But by looking up there, there are traces of the tire rubbing! And it shows on the tire also. I am guessing when I get out of my driveway, it tilts the car to one end so far that it tucks the tires like that???

Anyways.. anyone know how to solve this problem easier?

That's due to the +40 and 8 inch wide rim... The neg. camber helped you clear the fender lip but the inner well (that's new, never heard of anyone rubbing there) due theo the tire/offset/rim width which is really agressive... Looks like you took it to the breaking point..

(My best guess)

Easy (well maybe) option run 215/40/18 or 215/35/18 tires..

or get a dremel and grind down some of the material.

I believe there is 1 other member on the board that had this problem, and he said he used a mallet to bop it in. Maybe I'm weak or sumin, but it ain't budgeing.

I might cut that piece out and make a plate out of aluminum and screw it in.

Oh, btw... that picture I drew is only when it's tucked maxed out.

The photo below actually isn't maxed out. I has 1 more inch before it will touch the bulging part. I couldn't get it to max out. so I still don't know how it got tucked farther than that for it to touch ?_?

I got exactly the same problem with 7,5" 17" rim with +42 offset and 235/45/17 tires.
