Car 1: Acura Legend GS 94

Price difference(any and all input welcome)

Hi, I was involved in an accident recently and my beloved Legend is now considered "totaled". It was a sandwich on the freeway and a bad driver from behind who put me in this situation. Long story short, my car runs fine, save the minor bumper and hood damage, and Esurance has given me a value of $3,095. Now I have already put $490 into replacing the fuel pump, and $290 into getting the EGR valve replaced so it could pass smog. The insurance company miss estimated saying my Legend was a 5-speed and has no cd player in it when in fact its a 6-speed with a 6-cd changer. My questions are how much difference in price is a 5-speed to a 6-speed and how much difference in worth is the 6-cd changer going to add to the car's value? How much more should I ask for? Also, I need some help with finding a good car that is similar to my Legend as a replacement, so I can tell that to the insurance company, saying hey look, I can't buy a replacement car of the same type for this kind of money. Any and all help is appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, sorry for your loss. It is always sad to see a Legend destroyed. To answer your question, six speeds are rare. That alone raises the price (don't let them get over on you. The cd changer won't really add much to the value. The problem your facing is one many owners sadly come to realize.

Our cars are simply not worth much if anything. As far as insurance company's are concerned. It's always best to get a written quote of what you can expect to recieve in the event of loss. GL

Thanks! What car would you buy next? What is comparable to an Acura Legend that is around 2000. I'm looking the next car to put the say 3k towards. The salvage cost is $311 for my Legend, I plan on selling it and buying it back and driving her until she dies.
