Problem installing the ignition switch + few generic questions about Lgened

Ok, now I got the ignition switch from Acura Boston and remove the old one. It is actually very easy and the most difficult part is just the removing and reinstalling the ignition switch connection (the end with plastic lock thing). I cannot seem to push it in enough (i.e., I don't hear the sound 'click' as it should be) but I cannot push it any farther with all of my strength (I'm 200lbs 6'3" so you get the picture of how much strength I put on it ). I can start the car now perfectly (I tried about 10 times today) and drive for 50 miles today without any problems. The only thing I afraid of is that the connection is not completely secured and might fall off the socket (which is unlikely since it need some forces pulling it straigth to get it out). Does anyone have problem inserting the ignition switch (the plastic end, not the end that need two screws). I remember having similar problem with the master switch on the door long time ago (which I end up think that it is the differences in the size, just a bit like 0.2mm make it hard to lock it in fully).

I'm thinking about put the electrical tape (the highest quality with 260C temp resistance and no adhesive) to secure it even more. What do you think?

I also have couple of simple questions which may seem silly to you but here we go:

1) How often do you change the transmission fluid (for 5sp manual with 135k mileages), every 15000 miles or?

2) What kind of spark plugs you are using and think that it is the best? How often do you change it, every 50000 miles?

3) How often do you change the battery, every 3 years or?

Thanks for everyone helps with the ignition switch problem. I appreciate it Now I only need someone with experience installing the ignition switch to help me with the above mentioned connection problem. Thanks.

Mocca

P.S. I opened the old ignition switch and it seem perfectly fine. Well, except a minor bump inside the switch itself that may prevent the core to rotate back or forth after ignite the engine (it is hard to explain but it is one of those contact in the circular pads inside the switch itself).

i doubt the switch plug will ever fall out. maybe it did click and you did not hear it. change the tranny fluid every 15000 or before a long trip. use platinum tip sparks. you will probably be able to tell when the battery starts to get old. it should last about five years unless you have a few stereo amps hooked up to it.

Thanks. The ignition switch connector doesn't click at all. When I first removed the old one, it is really hard to remove it (I probably didn't pull it out straight since it is so cramp in there). I tried put in the old one and the old one doesn't click either but it stuck better than the new one (i.e., require more force to pull it off). For the new one, I don't even need to press the grip (you know the small thing you press before remove the connector out). I can just simply pull it out straight (abeit require some force, not much tough). I tried pushing it in very hard but it won't get in anymore. I will try to use the fusing tape to wrap around it to make sure it won't fall off. Anyone have the same problem as I'm?

I think I better get my baby to get the transmission fluid change then
