Problems Problems problems...??!!!
Yes i am a newb here ...i have been reading and reading and searching...Thought maybe someone just someone might be able to help me out...I am trying to sell my 1993 Legend L.
and have had problems w/ a code ...It came up as TPS...on the CEL and Throttle Angle Sensor on the D4 code...well i pulled the plug from the TPS and plugged it back in the other day and BAM!!! everything was grand...Well little did i know that somehow it had also fixed a few other problems that i would have never thought would have been involved...The door dinger doesn't ding without the key now, before it did, also the shift release wouldn't work correctly and when this problem fixed itself that also started working fine...I am lost and confused i have been working on acura's off and on for awhile (shadetree) and this is boggling me...Well Guess what it is doing it again and i have someone coming to look at the car tomorrow ...And the only reason i put it in the paper for sale was because i thought i had fixed the problem...with the TPS plug....I am on my knees (hands together) I have done so much research, and i really don't want to bring it to a mechanic to pay him to find out it isn't anything...OH yea prior to me messing w/ the plug i replaced the whole throttle body (had an extra from the old engine) .. well if you don't want to post here email me or pm me ...Email addy is tegrevboy@sbcglobal.net Thanks again... please... |

So, if you plug in the TPS again, does the door chime work again? If not, then it's a whole separate problem, possibly a fuse. If it does, then somewhere in the TPS wiring has the door chime somehow wired into it and that's still not right and you need to check your wiring. It's possible that you may have broken a wire while unplugging the IAC valve or the Throttle position sensor, check your connections and clean if necessary.
Did you start having these problems before or after you replaced the throttle body? If after, put the old throttle body back on and see if these problems go away. If before, then you've got an electrical issue. Start by going through all the fuses (Under hood & behind driver side kick panel) and make absolutely sure you didn't accidently blow a fuse. Get back to us after you do that. That's all I can suggest without doing the work myself.
