I may be going down to a performance muffler shop soon. I wanted to put some nice muffler tips on, but I may go ahead with a quad exhaust setup for the Legend. I always wanted the rear to have 4 pipes sticking out kinda like L3GNDKNG's sig.
![]() Would this be a bad idea for the Legend or will it work with no problems? I want to know what size pipes I should go with and how I should setup the pipes, that way I will see what the guys at the shop say. I plan on using two Stromung Dual Exhaust Mufflers to complete the Quad setup. Good idea or bad idea? |

blkonblkcpe's Setup is a single. He had a photoshopped picture of a dual exhaust setup, with two twin tipped mufflers (AKA "quad").
The only O2 senors on a G2 are in the headers, the rest is all just tubing. On my dual setup, we used a merger piece where the A-pipe (or Y-pipe) originally was, for balancing purposes. (Read: pulses and all that) The piping was 1.75" from headers back to two "mufflers" at the end, and by that, I mean straight-piped resonators with shiny tips. (See: eBay $20 muffler) We had to cut the spare tire area to run the passenger piping to the other side of the car, as the axle was sorta in the way. I hope that answers a few questions.

Lol. Well, there's nothing to see right now. 90% of it is wrapped up ona shop floor while we build the tranny and motor and put it in. Remind me again when it's running? :p

I'm having a prototype dual exhaust being made currently for my car. It features a 3 inch pipe to 2 2.25 inch pipes and 3 mufflers. So far it looks promising and looks awesome on the car. But mine are only 2 tips total not 4.

Thats very nicely done.
Dammit, now I'm all intrigued by this again. I want to run a true dual setup, each bank having it's own seperate piping. Back when we did our project, I was convinced I needed a union for pulse balance. Is this absolutely true?

While I admit that I am not too knowledgeable on the subject, I have always heard that for a true dual setup, a cross over (either X pipe or H pipe) is needed to balance and smooth out the exhaust flow:
X Marks the Horsepower Spot--MagnaFlow Tru-X Crossover Pipes - SummitRacing.com True dual exhaust I believe Ford might be the only company nowadays that still does this, and you can find many debates on mustang forums in X vs H pipe....dont know how effective it'd be on a C32 (believe you'd need two small cats too), but just thought Id throw it out there |
