Question Quick Wheel Question Regarding Custom Wheel Order for offsets, lip etc.

I have decided on these wheels and I am going to place the order tomorrow.

My question is this:

What is the best offset to order if I dont want my wheels to rub when I lower it 1.1/1"?

Also, what lip should I order?

The guy recomended a 4.5cm up front and a 5cm in the back.

http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/ts2/ts2.html

I CANT WAIT!

But I need your help so I can order tomorrow ASAP....

Thanks Again Everyone!

I'de say go w/ 18X8 +50 offset. If you can get the Lip in 5 cm front and rear do it. 5cm = 2 inch lip...
But if you do 18X7.5 +48 offset up would be fine... +45 would be the absolute lowest.

Nice choice..

For your susp. I'de go w/ an H&R drop w/ konis 1.4 front 1.5 rear. leave the Konis on the upper in the front (OEM setting) and Middle in the rear (OEM setting) That would look amazing on the coupe. An Eibach drop will show no difference in looks when dropped an inch. (Been there don that and have pics)

NICE wheel..

but I have to say this. If you are going to spend that kind of money on rims, that means it's all about looks. Get fat wheels. Go further than I did.

Get like... 18 X 8.5 +48mm and 18 X 8.5 +55mm for example.

Make the most of your fender spaces since you're getting hot rims. It's wasteful to go conservative on expensive rims.

Kinda like how my co-worker bought a BMW, but decided to get the most conservative options... and it's just a plain jane bmw that could have been a bad-ass one. Know what I mean?

Like this van below with those rims...

Notice he went aggressive with the rims specs and make it look good? Negative camber, deep rear dish....

Thai,

just exactly how much stiffer are H&R's compared to Eibachs? The Eibachs were WAY to stiff for my taste. Either they're just too stiff in general or it was because of my settings I had em at.

I'm not too sure never rode on H&R's but from what I heard they are softer than eibachs and have a lower drop. I liked the ride of the eibachs but didnt like the drop.

If you put the koni's on the lowest setting w/ any springs the ride will be stiffer. I also left my konis at the softest setting.

Knowing Cole he prob. wont want to push the envelope and go w/ such an agressive offset/Wheel width 2 inch lip all around is not bad..18X8.5 how much lip would be gained? 2.5? Couldnt he just do a low disc set up (since he prob wont get big brakes) and that increase the width of the lip?

Really!!!!!! They're softer???? Wow. I read on here they were stiffer. If they're softer, I may just have to buy some.

I had my koni's set on the lowest perch in the rear, high on front driver side and low on the front passenger. So that's why it was so rough. Now I know better.

Thanks guys.....

the only reason I am going with a 18x7.5 is because that is what sixe the tires I have just came off of. I dont want to be stretching too much and have strange looking tires.

Maybe I will go with the 18x8....hmm...anywho...I am off to work now and I will let you all know tonight what I ended up ordering.

I'm running 19X8 w/ 225/35 w/ no stretching... 19X8.5 would stretch a 225/series tire.

18x8 via 43 offset was right on the borderline when I had it on my coupe, 18x8.5 via 48 offset will give off the same results. I would be cautious on this.

if your gonna be ordering it then why not just get the work equip 5 star?

that style you posted seems a bit too sporty and looks like alot of other knock off wheel designs, especially the chrome version. Seriously, from 10 feet away, it looks like any other 5 star wheel.

and fyi, 225 -40-18 in a 18x8 wheel is not bad at all, I use to have that set up and it did not look stretched at all. But if you go 18x8.5, they will look stretched for sure.

Those rims are sweet
I just may get them for my coupe here in Florida, cause I like chrome look.

As for the lip, I would recommend that you try to keep them all the same
for if you ever have to rotate or just make sure everytime you get tires that the shop knows which goes where (ie, front/ rear) unless its really noticable

How much are you looking at to spend on these?

Can $1,600 go far as purchasing these rims in 17" or 18" or are these
more like $2K to $4K rims your buying.

These rims will come Hubcentric?

Let me know

Interested

James

On a 7.5" rim, +55 is perfect ... trust me, I did the measurements. For a 8" wheel, +58 is perfect ... any more and you'd rub on the inside. With either size, go with +55 ... it will tuck perfectly, and you'll have no issues.

If you're doing custom, do it right!
