Radio crapping out??

Anyone else experience this?? For some reason I keep having this intermitent problem with my radio...it will quitely start to make this static noise and then get real loud!! Only in the passenger speakers...it's annoying as hell and kinda embarassing!! You have to turn the music up pretty loud to drown out the sound!! Have any of you experienced this before?? What's the problem?? Is it my amp or the headunit?? Thanx guys...

I use to have this problem from time to time and the way I solved it was by banging the headunit between where the bass and treble knobs are at and it worked like a charm after that.

you didn't break the treble and bass knobs? or you just led your frustration out on the knobs
