Angry Ran into curb on ice, bent rim, possible control arm probs?

there is a new prob every week.

this actually happend 3 weeks ago but i wanna fix it this week.

his a curb with front driver side wheel while wheel was turned...
now the rim is bent and i have to turn the steering wheel pretty far to the left just to go straight.

is this a prob of the bent rim or control arm or something?

is it easy to fix?

*gives car evil stare down*

Well in my experience after hitting a curb my alignment was just wayyyyy off. Get it aligned and get the rim fixed. --=Keith

Oh totally! Depending on how the rim was bent you can fix it, also take it into the shop 99% of the time they can fix it, I had a rim everyone said they coudln't fix untill i took it to this one place and he fixed it, although he had his doubts too. Total cost $140, if it's just a wheel straightening then it's abot 80, the other is for paint --=Keith

hey i experienced the same exact problem last year, but it was my left rear control arm that got all bent. It only scratched my rims a little (and got the car on 2 wheels) but it is like $75.00 or so for the control arm, and you can tell if it is the control arm because your legend will not sit straight, it will lean to one side, and you can see the bent control arm if you look under the car..

If you hit the curb hard enough to throw the steering wheel off of center, you could have bent the tie rod, A-arm, knuckle and damaged the rack. If there is no binding felt when moving the steering from one extreme to the other, the rack is probably ok. In order to diagnose if some part is damaged, the best method is to have a 4 wheel alignment. My "guesstimate" is a damaged tie rod.
