Hey all,
My tranny mount, and maybe motor mounts are shot. What would be the effect of replacing the rear mount with a solid mount, and leaving the rest OEM? Will this stress anything too much? Right now I can move my engine by hand (left and right) is this normal, or shot motor mount symptoms? Thanks for any input!

Sounds like you have broken engine mounts, Custom polyurethane mounts are your best bet, but I don't think anybody has had the balls to make them. The problem is, with solid mounts, the resonant vibration from the engine and transmission will be felt throughout the car, making for a pretty uncomfortable ride. Something must be in between the drivetrain and the body of the car to absorb that vibration. I hope this helps.
