Rims w/ Machined Lip versus Rims w/o Machined Lip - what does that mean?
what's the difference between one that is machined lip and one that is not. Can someone tell me or show me a pic of a machined lip? Are mine Machined lip?
looks like to me, that ur rims don't even have a lip....
somebody correct me if i am wrong..

Well, if your talkin about a "lip" rim, something like a gunmetal rim. The non machined lip would be all gunmetal, whereas the machines lip would be a nice silver lip with a gunmetal center.

So, the lip is just a term to show that it has a different color than the rest of the rim?!??! I thought it was something more concrete, like the edge of the rim sticks out more or looks more solid making a 17" look like it's an 18" or something like that.

A lip is what you a you are talking about.
Machining is just where they basically polish either the rim or the lip to a high gloss finish....so aluminum almost looks chrome

There's even more to that. The one piece wheels that try to look like multi-piece usually have a machined lip. The multi-piece M-5's in the pic have a polished lip. You can see the difference between a polished and machined lip because the machined lip has grooves where they ground the lip. Polished looks like a mirror and is smooth.
